I know how busy you stay, Sue. How is your husband doing after his stroke?

Not much going on around here today. We woke to a glaze of ice that kept everybody home last night and this morning and now it's raining.

We've piddled around, changing air filters, vacuuming, dusting, emptying out kitchen cabinets. He's been watching college basket ball this afternoon and I'm pestering the cat and Kindling, mostly reading.

The second that he starts snoozing, I'll snatch the remote and find a movie, lol. I've got my eye on him. ;-)

This morning my DS and I went to a neighboring town to help my cousin's friend move out of an apt. building that had a fire a couple of days ago. Smoke damage was throughout the building and today was the only day residents had access to their units to move out. The smoke smell was so strong that I could not stay and help. DS helped and then helped another resident. All beds and stuffed furniture was put in a dumpster. I ran errands and then watched Iowa State beat Texas in basketball on TV.

Got out, today, first time since Wed. Nice! Lttle breezy and rain is on it's way.

Down by the farmer's market for lunch, got a much needed haircut. Need to wash a load of clothes but that won't happen. That's it. Gonna finish watching Birdman of Alcatraz.

I began the day with good intentions. I cleaned the oven. By I cleaned, I mean I pushed a button, and three hours later wiped it out. It all went downhill from there. We have been watching The 100 season 2 all afternoon.

I've been fiddling around with garden plans all day. I've spent long enough playing the "oh, I wanna grow that!" game and now have to buckle down and figure out where it's all going to go.

Let's see--took the dog to the park at 7:30 a.m., came home, fed and washed off him so he can come inside. Spread lawn clippings around the garden to act as mulch since we are in this miserable drought (we are predicted to get a little rain tomorrow). Put a rag on the end of the broom and got the spider webs down from the walls inside, took down and washed some vents, hauled the 5 houseplants outside and fed them, sprayed with water. Hung up the spring wreath and put out a couple silk spring flower arrangements. First day of spring is March 20, and I'll be ready!

Marilyn Sue, thank you for posting. I hope your DH is gaining strength every day. I always enjoy everyone's replies, rhizo keeping an eye on her drowsy husband, debby working SO HARD to clean her oven. Keep up the good work, ladies!

I had great intentions but haven't left the couch...have gone thru pictures and pictures and more pictures cleaning up, categorizing and generally piddling the day away!

It's a beautiful day today but I've spent most of it indoors. I talked to my out-of-town sister for 1 1/2 hours this morning, went to the library, did a quick shopping and some laundry.. It's my mom's 86th birthday on Monday so we're having a family dinner here tomorrow. So I've been cleaning the house and starting to prepare the dinner. Menu is set just want to get a head start on the quinoa casserole so I'll make that tonight.

Last night our bedroom was stuffy -- not hot enough to run the A/C, but I was restless. Cool this morning; 78F with a nice breeze. Lots of surfers, SUP-ers, and swimmers out in the ocean. The Kamaole beach parks are busy with visitors and locals enjoying sun, sand and surf -- and picnics. I had time to view all this as we crawled along oceanfront Kihei Road to the library, Foodland, Salvation Army, and Ace Hardware. I'd cleaned out my clothes closet and our Owner Storage -- hence the trip to Salvation Army. We leave for home in less than three weeks, and I don't want to get into 'shingles mode' packing things away in a hurry at the last moment.

Yesterday the handyman put up four-inch deep mouldings to serve as valances over the woven wood vertical shades on our three sliding glass doors. He also installed one-inch-profile wood corner protectors on seven interior corners. (Some already had them.) He'll give everything a second coat of paint Monday. I need to take my tiny brush to fill in nicks in other trim and on closet louver doors.

DH picked up "The Drop" from the Redbox kiosk in Foodland for our Saturday afternoon teatime matinee. We polished off "Downton Abbey" and "Grantham" Thursday and Friday -- recorded from *last* weekend. We were watching "The Judge" (excellent) before getting to the Masterpiece programs.

I sent our DGD an e-card with dog and kittens for her fourth birthday. DGS will be getting one for his tenth in less than two weeks. (We will celebrate with cake, paper cards, and gifts after we get home.)

Always good to hear what everyone is *doing*. (Especially the chickens! LOL)

The weather men missed it, we had a pretty day instead of the rain predicted.
We did some shopping and now are at Bone Daddys having ribs yummy.

They predicted 2-4 inches of snow today. By 11 this morning my wife finished shoveling 2". Later, around 5 P.M. we went back out and there was an additional 8 inches of snow. We just spent 2 hours shoveling, and finished about half of the driveway (which is about 1/10 of a mile long) got back to the house and found that nearly 2 more inches had fallen where we had already shoveled.

It has now switched over to half sleet/half snow, and is supposed to do that for a while, or switch to ice, or switch to rain, but given how wrong they weather guys have been so far, I'm none too confident of their latest predictions.

I'm having my usual lazy Saturday. Spent time trying to contact my granddaughters' swim club to purchase another swim cap for one that has lost her's. Then to a movie (Still Alice, very sad) and out for dinner. A glass of white wine and a prosciutto and fig pizza. Rest of the day spent reading an excellent book that I will be featuring on Book of the Week likely in about three weeks or so.

A prosciutto and fig pizza? Does that ever sound good.

Ohmygosh, prairie_rose - that looks and sounds wonderful!!!!

I'm still taking it easy from being so sick, but I went out and picked 127 tangerines from our tree. It was here when we moved here and this is the first time it has every produced. Happy, happy, happy!

I went through a few magazines and got rid of the ones I don't want to keep.

DH and I went to town so he could get his meds at the pharmacy and I could pick up my new glasses.

Such excitement! LOL!

Staying inside, sun out again, but with about 3-4 inches of snow and temp a minus -24 below 0, wind chill 47 below 0, not good. Looks so pretty. Glad to hear from Marilyn Sue.
