We're having crab cakes with garlic roasted potatoes and Riesling for dessert. In front of the fireplace! It's wicked cold today in central Ohio.

I am hoping for dinner out at the Boat restaurant. It was a gray day here today.
Went to have my blood work done and the computers were all down and they could not pull up the orders so wasted trip. Bummer.

Tonight is veal cutlets, mashed potatoes and gravy, and braised kale. I picked up a strawberry strudel in town, today, for dessert.

I made some ground chicken meatballs earlier today. Will be making Buffalo chicken meatballs (figured the hot sauce might warm me up) and a tossed salad.

I had 2 slices of pizza for a late breakfast or early lunch and will have post toasties with strawberries for dinner.

Leftover ham, beans & cornbread. We love leftovers!

Soup and sandwiches here, too, Shirley. Made some cream of tomato basil soup and will make grilled cheese sandwiches shortly. Am using pumpernickle bread with cheddar and muenster; I like to cut the sandwiches into sticks for easier dunking. Yum!

Just tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich for me tonight. Waiting for the snow to move in over night.

looks like lots of non meat eaters here tonight. I don't know if it is all because of lent and Catholics not eating meat on Fridays during lent. Mine is, we had mac and cheese with tuna. It was very good.

Brushworks: You described our Ohio weather very accurately. Crab cakes w/potatoes sounds good to my ears.
Raven: Sorry you had a wasted trip. Did your night out to eat help to make up for it?

Rhizo: I got a chuckle over you 'dunking' your sticks into the soup. My sister, Annie, in the Home likes to do that too. Surprised me when I saw her do that.

Well we went to the Boat and both got the Steam Pot with boiled shrimp, crawfish, King crab legs red potatoes and corn on the cobb. We usually love this but oh my goodness it was way too spicy and we ordered it mild. Everyone was complaining. Our waitress was so mad at the cooks. So they only charged us for one, we told her not to do that but they insisted. We are regulars there. Very nice family that owns the place. So yes I got to go out.

It was one of those 'clean out the fridge' meals. The missus had used only half a can of cream of chicken soup, so that went with a buncha other stuff that need a home. I served it over spaghetti. Not great, but I got some things out of the way.

Baked potato, salad with Thousand Island dressing, butterscotch pudding. I ran out of butter so I melted shredded cheese over the potato. Missed the butter !

Didn't even think about Lent. I just like that soup and you have to have grilled cheese with tomato soup. I'm sure that that is written down somewhere.

So mad. Just found a cube of butter hiding in the back of the fridge.

Shirley, felt the heat from the Buffalo chicken meatballs for quite a while. LOL Don't plan on making them again.

bengardening - Yes, I'm Catholic too. All of these meals sound so yummy. I am definately getting my appetite back. I had lost 14 pounds being sick. I weighed this morning and have gained one back from my increased appetite already. About grilled cheese and tomato soup - that is just a classic for some reason. I remember that was a regular meal for us growing up.

Suzanne, I've been trying to regain some weight after being sick, too. I've been having a lot more creamy sauces and soups lately, but mostly am adding frequent but healthy snacks.

My husband asks me what I had for pre-breakfast, breakfast, brunch, and lunch!

Hahaha, rhizo_1! Also, remember the hobbits - they had meals like 11sies, 2nd breakfast, and a lot more others I can't recall right now. I am definitely not trying to gain back any of that weight. In fact, I would like to lose more.
