What does it mean to have a 'follower'?

I've acquired two 'followers' today! What does that mean? Sounds like I have stalkers, LOL!

Sorry mushcreek. I was one of them. I've been keeping up with your build forever and just didn't want to miss it when you finished. I must admit that I felt that it was a bit intrusive but I couldn't stop myself. Sorry bout that.

I am not sure either but I don't think you can message people if you don't follow them? I too just didn't want to miss you finishing up since you have worked so long and hard on your own. Can't miss all that inspiration!

Austransplant- You could be right about the PC. Somehow, I have been lucky and do not yet have PC in my orchard. I don't know how this is possible as this is the 4th season with apple trees in my yard, and there are crab apples near by. Is this beginners luck? Nevertheless, I'm preparing myself (by attempting to obtain the Permethrin & Imidan) this year for that eventuality. Since they have never gotten established in my orchard, I wonder if it's simply because I bag my apples and have never let them get a foothold that I haven't seen them yet? (especially around the time just before bagging) I know my local orchards 20 minutes away have to deal with PC. If, like diseases, each variety showed more or less suceptibility to PC, it would be nice to see a chart somewhere (like they do with diseases) so that people could benefit from it. -Glenn

I've been growing a couple Bananas in Pots for the past few years, but this past year was the first time I planted them in the ground. I left 1 outside, and brought two of them inside. I didn't go too overboard with using Xmas lights and makeshift greenhouses. I just left the Banana as is, and covered it and the ground around it with a couple bags of Mulch. I wrap the bottom 1-2 feet of the psuedostem with plastic wrap and put about 9-12 inches of mulch as filler. Now, I'm just waiting to see if it lived. Most of the psuedostem that I have seen/touched is kind of mushy. Any idea how long it should take to see some pups come up if the corm survived? I really liked Wilson's Idea with the mini greenhouse, so I just went out and put a few stakes in the ground around the corm and put some clear plastic over top to get the same effect. Hope this will help.

Aren't you the lucky one......I have used that option about two or three times over the years that I have had computers.....and I had Windows 3.0, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7.0 Professional and Windows 10.....as you can see I have had many computers over the years........I am a Computer operator not a Computer Tech......Thank you! P.S. I go back to Netscape and my first computer was a Gateway......I still need help from a Tech....but, I have fun with my laptop, Ipad, Desktop....

It's efflorescence. Very common with unsealed concrete block walls. It is caused by water seeping in from the outside. It can be painted with a sealer product on the inside. Looks nicer, but it will not solve the problem. It will only mask it for a while. If the building is around twenty years old or less, it should have a drain tile system around the base that will allow ground water to be drained away. Often, this system is blocked by sediment or the pipes have been crushed by careless construction practices. It needs to be dug out and repaired or cleaned. If the structure is older than this, one needs to be installed. This is dirty, nasty backbreaking work. If you continue to consider this home, you will want a foundation specialist to conduct an examination and give you a quotation for remediation. You can use this quote to reduce the cost of your offer. You can require correction as a condition of closing. It's not the end of the world, but it needs to be corrected.

In the your houzz section, under your updates it has discussions that I have posted in and then it had discussions you posted in. Such as "mushcreek posted a comment in How is Your Build, February 2015". I guess I can click on it to read your post. It looks like it just makes your posts easier to find but I'm not sure if that's it or not.

Regarding the email thing, from what I understand, if you are following someone, THEY can choose to email YOU but not the other way around unless they become your follower also. Makes sending a private message to someone rather difficult, not like the old GW system. We've worked around it a few times on the Home Decorating forum but it's not a great system to put your email address out in the open then go back and delete it after the specific person(s) has/have seen it.
