Unfortunately who ever wrote the text of the page you linked did not include citations so it is hard to say how recent the information is. Placing Eupatorium rugosum in the genus Ageratina goes back to a paper by King and Robinson in 1987, where they note that Ageratina has twice the chromosome number of Eupatorium and different pappus morphology. In 2000 Schmidt and Schilling released DNA evidence that supports this assertion, and suggest that retention of Ageratina in Eupatorium would require the inclusion of several other genera including Liatris for the genus to remain monophyletic. The placement of E. maculatum and E. purpureum in Eupatoriadelphus (not sure where Eutrochium comes from...maybe a more recent paper?) is not as strongly supported by the Schmidt and Schilling paper because they found that Eupatoriadelphus was sister to Eupatorium, making the split arbitrary (the old lumper vs. splitter argument) Some people are quick to use new conventions as they are published, while others may read through the data and decide to wait until more data becomes available if the current is not compelling. Personally I am inclined to keep old names unless DNA evidence shows that the older groups are not monophyletic.

DW was the kindest, most gentle and friendly person ever to exist on this forum. Her uncanny ability to ferret out information with search engines will never be equaled. She lacked the confidence to give information from knowledge, but she could sure point the way with research. Though I don't like to, I can remember the times that the jackals of the forum picked on her and belittled her. Not everyone knows their zone or even understands what it means. Say there was a poster from Saudi Arabia, for example, or China. If they would just put roughly their region into their name it might helpful. Marie: if people included their zone and/or their city/region in their name as it shows up upon posting, especially when they posted a question about a IDing a shrub, then it would be a lot easier to ID it without having to ask a lot of followup questions...which may or may never get answered by the original poster (OP). So, it would save me, the ID'er and the OP time. So it is critical information for certain questions or posts, but not all. I dont' want to have to click on their name to try to find more information -- which may or may not be there. Also, I see you have a (6) by your name -- assume that is zone? A zone number by itself is somewhat helpful, but a cold desert zone 6 is completely different than a Mid-Atlantic zone 6, so there is still some ambiguity in that. A region of a state would be a helpful addition, for example...SW Ohio or Eastern Colorado Plains.

I get almost no spam calls on my cell phone, but I also turn it off at night and then turn in back on in the morning when I feel like it. I think it is turned off most of the time, and I figure the battery will last longer that way. I tend not to answer numbers that I do not recognize, but sometimes these calls are from doctors' offices, and I have to call them back. When I first moved to Culver City, I had a phone number that was either previously owned by Larry Welk or was very similar, and on my voice mail, I said "Please leave a message for Larry" because I used that name instead of Lars back then. At one point I started getting a lot of voice mail messages from companies trying to sell me insurance for my helicopter because Larry Welk was a news helicopter pilot for Channel 13. (Larry Welk was/is Lawrence Welk's son, in case you have heard of him.) Finally, to stop the voice mail messages, I changed my greeting to say "Hello, you have reached 310-xxx-xxxx, the house of no Lawrence Welk music. If you think you have reached this number in error, please take two Geritol and dial again in the morning." After having that message on my answering machine, the insurance companies stopped calling me, but my mother got mad because she liked Lawrence Welk and made me change the message.
