New Wolf double wall oven M Series

Well now I am going on to my 3rd Wolf double wall oven. My second E series is going back to Wolf and I am replacing it the the Professional M series double wall oven. I had to pay about $2,000, the difference in price between the E and the M. Hopefully, the new design of the interior will keep the porcelain from chipping if not I am done with Wolf. Stay tuned and I will give a review after I have used it for awhile.

Please keep us updated. I also want the professional M series single wall oven. I am very interested in how long yours last before it begins to chip. I decided to purchase the all gas range instead of the dual fuel because of the chipping issue.

I have duel 30" Therm convection circa 2006 and love them. Others here have indeed had problems but I've only run the self-cleaning once or twice and I think that's where the trouble came from. I do hammer both ovens at 450 & 525 often (bread and pizza) for hours on end and both ovens at the same time and they have been problem free. They also seem to stay clean at that temp. As for top, bottom or both - both if you have the budget:for the flexibility. If only one, figure out which height you are most likely to be most comfortable with using most often and choose that one for convection. One note - my ovens are loaded with neat convince features like the temp probe, delayed bake, timed bake, etc... I use none of them. I do use the standard bake, broil,roast, proof, warm, fast preheat, and the convection pairings, but none of the "smart" features. Carefully consider your cooking style before paying for the next upgrade in the line. I was so very tempted to kill the budget with an extra 2k or so on the Meile with the internal rotisserie and a few other features - pretty sure I never would have used those either.

I would check with another appliance store that carries Wolf. I have had the M Pro for over a year. I have not had any problems with it. Some on this forum said that they thought the oven was very loud, but I have not had a problem with noise. I have even used the self-clean cycle and it worked beautifully. Did the salesman say what type of problems the M's are having? I have not heard anything about the buy backs. I would stay away from the E Series. I had 2 of them because of the porcelain chipping in both and upgraded to the M's. Good luck on your choice.

Has anyone NOT experienced flaking on new Wolf M series ovens?

I was planning to purchase the Wolf M series transitional ovens (along with some other Wolf products), however the posts about the continued chipping/flaking of the oven interior concerns me. I want to be able to self-clean the oven without worrying about this. Have any owners of the newer M series NOT experienced the chipping/flaking?

I M looking at the e series electric wall oven ( which is cheaper than the m series) . I asked the showroom a simple question- how many passes is the broiler. She didn’t even know what a pass was. I said that every other oven lists the specs including the wattage of the bake and broil features. Why is wolf so difficult to find these answers. Anyway, the answer was 8 passes which seems very little to me. Bosch is 12, cafe is 10. I need to make a decision within the next few weeks. Wolf did better than bosch in consumerreports and there was no reporting of the enamel chipping. Any suggestions are appreciated.

How has that oven been for two months...we are considering the new Wolf M Double Oven or the Viking DO.

I would be comparing against Miele and Gaggenau.

I can also think of some much less expensive midrange ovens that I would take over Viking.

Kalapointer--I know this is an older thread that you posted prior to receiving your new M ovens, and I know from Applnut's thread that the M's are chipping for you. I was so sorry to hear this. I need to decide if I go forward with M replacements for my L's. I have posted on that other thread to see if you could tell us how Wolf is handling the situation. Do you have an update on your current situation? I would appreciate any info you can provide! Thanks.

Hi Breezy, Good to hear from you! No I have not done anything about my ovens yet. Life got in the way, but that is on my New Year's resolution list. Wolf gave me 2 appliance repair shops to call. I want to do this soon. I will let you know how it works out.
