What causes washed out, faded looking blooms???
Comments (4)One spring I used Ironite and blamed that on faded blooms. It was just a guess. Maybe too cool temps? I really don't know but when it warmed up more, the colors came back. Don't worry. Kathy...See More2 plants blooming for 40-51 days, now washed out flowers?
Comments (1)I've had that too with some of mine. Especially Taratahi Glo. It starts blood red, with a bit of yellow; then washes to more of an orange. This year, it started late; and started with the orange flowers. I believe it is weather related. I think some dahlias thrive on warmer temps and more sunlight. When mid August, september roll around, my neighbors giant Maple starts to shade my yard for most of the day. That seems to dampen the color on some dahlias. Just my theory anyway......See MoreWashed out reds on digital
Comments (6)The white balance may have go astray. Try white balancing your camera, and then do a test shot to see if there is an improvement. There may be different 'white balamces' for each scene mode such as outdoor-sunny, outdoor-cloudy, indoor/incadescent light, flourescent, etc. Check your instruction manual. If there are different white balance values stored for each different scene mode, perform a white balance for each one. If only one white balance is present, it is likely the one for outdoor-sunny. It is a good idea to perform a white balance periodically, or after each change of batteries. Often, you can tell if the white balance has gone astry by viewing the stored images on your camera's view screen. Although, the camrea's view screen can not compare to the printed image on photo papar or your computer's monitor, it is good enough to detect bad shots and fouled color balance....See MoreWill reducing BM Fernwood Green by 25% make it too washed out?
Comments (6)No paint store gives you anything without charging for it. Sherwin Williams calls theirs Colors to go and BM has those jars but not in every color. Lowes will copy a BM color but I don't trust that the color will be acurate as the pigments are different. So if I use in internet source like Belcaro, I will have to pay for two jars, one in 50% and one in 25% reduced. But I wonder if the colors will be washed out. I don't want the color to loose its greenish yellow tint and become muddy. I wonder if anyone has reduced this particular color and how it came out?...See Moretreehugger101
