Filling a deep alcove tub with wall faucet?
Comments (0)How long does it take to fill your deep alcove tub with water using the wall faucet. We are in a dilemna and would prefer a wall filler but are having issues with GPM. Would rather not go to a Roman Tub filler. How long does it take to fill your tub? 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes. Newer wall faucets have GPM restrictions. Looking for real world experience. Thank you...See MoreHow to fill in these alcoves?
Comments (16)I totally agree with cawaps, and personally think they look a bit silly regardless. In a church or large public building where they may serve a function to have art without impeding traffic flow, I can understand it, but they seem totally useless in a private home IMO....See MoreHow do I design an entertainment wall on this alcove?
Comments (14)Thanks for the extra photos, So some new thoughts that do not include a barn door so that you can budget for some real storage and possibly a new sofa with much smaller proportions. It's geat that you want a room that is child friendly, but it needs to be family friendly as well with an attractive, organized space the parents can enjoy --Relocate the TV to the far wall across from the big window and watch the TV from there. --Below the TV and across the wall below the window, add open shelving like this with baskets for most of the toys. It doesn't need to be all cubbies. Some straight open shelves such as you see in a preschool would provide playing space for your child. --Use the niche for bookshelves with the lowest one for basket storage. Decluttering and fixing layout are the first order of business. The problem in your room is not that the TV doesn't fit in the niche. It's that the toy situation is out of control. You need to take all the toys out of the room, install your storage bookcases and baskets, then only bring in age appropriate that you child(ren) enjoy enough to play with daily and put away every day. Good luck!...See MoreAlcove in wall - how to decorate?
Comments (17)So many houses where I live have these odd alcoves. I have completely come around to the thinking that the space is more useful filled in. Although it is possible to find art to fill it, does it really look nice with a tall narrow painting? Not to my eyes. I would rather have a larger mantel and have the option of hanging one or two pieces of art over it, (more conventionally shaped art)....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
