I have some dried chile Tepin peppers. I have rolled a rolling pin over them to break them down. My question is, would it be better to put them in a Magic Bullet and turn them into powder? I would think they would have more flavor if they were reduced to powder.
Since they are so small, you might as well make them into a powder. You can also post your question on the Hot Pepper Forum, where people are more experienced with hot chilies than they are here.
You should only grind them into powder just before you plan to use them, as they will lose flavor more quickly after being ground. I usually leave dried chilies whole, but the main ones I use are Tabasco or Cayenne, and I remove them after cooking with them, although sometimes I add them to pickle brine when making pickles.
I used to have Tepin chilies in my yard, but I found them too difficult to use, being so small.
