Muscadine Grape Juice

So I've got about 20 young muscadines vines, and they're pretty easy to propagate any additional, and fresh acreage to plant them on. I got all excited when I learned you could juice them, I think they taste pretty good fresh especially the "sweet" between the skin and the "booger nucleus". but i bought some bottled that my grocery store had on clearance today, I'd never seen it before, and it tasted pretty pitiful. somewhere between watered down welches grape and prune juice. More toward prune juice unfortunately. Could it have been the preservatives? The age? Over cooked? I was pretty let down. I've read recipes where you grind, boil and sift. Does anyone have any experience on this?

I sometimes go outside to an orange tree, pick several, wash them and squeeze out the juice using the glass/plastic' push and twist' juicer and then slowly sip a very flavorful, rich treat. I have n e v e r tasted any processed/heated/strained/mixed/corn-syrupped to death/chemically modified combination of stuff that has ever tasted as good as the real thing. Good muscadines' flavor can't be improved upon either by humans' feeble gyrations. It is not a fair fight.

You want some really good muscadine juice, order some from ISON's. I was there couple weeks back and the lady there let me sample some. I bought one bottle and the entire family loved it. Wish i had bought more while i was there.

I'm guessing wildlife IS eating up that fruit. FWIW, my Master Gardener aunt played a trick on us once when we were visiting her in WI; we came upon some wild grapes while touring a local park & started to pick the fruit, while she hung back & watched - those grapes were so sour! She laughed & explained that was why they were still on the vine.

This forum gives me some great new ideas.
I have about 40 or so up coming Muscadine vines, 17 different varieties. I mostly grow them to propagate and sell young vines, but soon I will have an overflow of fruit and now I have this thought of what to do with it.

I have heard that muscadine juice is in bitter taste. I read an article about the benefits . After reading it, is it really beneficial than i would like to definately try.

Please someone help me out to get the real benefits of it , who have already tried it. Have a look in the article below and suggest me.

Turn it into wine. They make great homemade wine. You can also make juice to drink just add some sugar. I have several wild muscadine vines I use to make wine and jelly. It makes really good jelly.

Does anybody use a steam juicer to extract muscadine juice? Does anybody can muscadine juice? Water bath or pressure?

I'm going to be trying the steam juicer thing in the next few days to get some of them out of my freezer.

I would suspect the juice the original poster tasted might have been oxidized and/or too old, if there's a difference.
