😊 I only use the eggplant to make Mediterranean dishes ( you probably havn’t heard or seen) one dish is made with roasted eggplant on fire then mashed and sautéed with garlic, turmeric, tomatoes and eggs, has a smoky flavor and aroma to it. ( another dish is with sauted eggplants cooked with lots of garlic, tomatoes, dried mint, turmeric and a dairy product called Kashk. Also eggplant stew with lamb...all are very delicious. I’m more used to cooking with the long skinnier eggplants ( less seeds).

I did spot spiders underside leaf. But what was surprising is the new leaves that are just about sprouting also appear sick. I will take cleaner shots today evening and post here. I am thinking about round 2 of organicide per manufacturer recomendation, not sure if it will work though

I'm having similar problems. We had a fairly rainy spell, with lots of humidity and moderate heat. In addition, the balcony upstairs had some temporary problem where it was dumping water over the edge onto my plants. Inches of standing water on the plants within minutes. Pulled them back, tilted some of the plants to pour off water. Was gone for 5 days over the 4th of July weekend. I was worried about my plants, but the water meter said they were soaked before I left. They were still moist when I returned. Figured there was some rain. Since then it has been in the 90's almost every day. I think I let them dry too much at some point. I was very excited to see an eggplant and then a few green tomatoes when I came back from my trip. The eggplant grew fairly large (for an asian eggplant) but I was concerned because I had lots of blossoms, but nothing was happening. I tried using a small paintbrush to aid pollination then cut off the lone eggplant in attempt to help more come. The blossoms are falling off much more quickly than they were in June. We are getting a fair bit of wind as well. They could be cooking on the concrete balcony. The soil mix was 1/4 peat, 1/4 compost, 1/2 potting soil that included fertilizer. The same soil mix on my tomatoes is producing blossom end rot, so maybe it is calcium deficiency? I did try some epsom salts too. Any thoughts?

<looks like slug damage.> I was thinking the same thing. Where did you get the soil that is in the pot? Yea slugs don't like light so they only come out at nite when no one is checking. But as mentioned if you look under the pot you may find one or more. Don't think there is only one. You can use scissors to cut em in half if you don't want to touch it. Or what I like to use in the garden is 2/10 ammonia/water in a spray bottle. It just melts them after a minute or two, if it doesn't add more ammonia. What I like about the spray bottle is that many times it will cause one or more you didn't see to squirm and come into view. HTH
