Freestanding full-depth Fridge That can Look Integrated?
Comments (4)I'll be following this thread as I'm looking for the same thing. I initially looked at fully integrated but have decided that, for us, it just isn't worth the expense. We had counter depth sxs in the last house and it just wasn't enough refrigerator space for us. We're a family of 6 so I also looked at all-fridge and all-freezer options but some of the full-depth combos have more refrigerator space and I have a space in a nearby laundry room designated for a separate freezer. We're doing a new build so we can recess a full-depth refrigerator pretty easily if planned at this point in construction. Sorry that I don't have a suggestion for you but hopefully someone will! I will also let you know what I find as I look at various appliance stores....See MoreBuilt In Look With Counter Depth Fridge installation
Comments (2)You can have your cabinet maker make all of your boxes on the same line as the cabinet extra deep, at least an inch and up to three (25 to 27 inches), in order to fit the full body depth. Or, you have to have your GC install your water line and plugs to be as recessed as possible behind the fridge opening. In fact, at the narrower 25" depth, you may still have to recess your plugs and water connections. I have a 24" depth and one of the few CD fridges that come with a 23 1/2" deep body, plus a special trim kit. And, I still had to route the water line up from the floor and recess the plugs in order to get it to all fit. All in all, it will still stick out, unless you get a built-in, integrated refrigerator. It will just stick out less. Many of the models do have a black or grey cover at the bottom that cover the bottom, some have a grill, and others, as you note, just have feet....See MoreCan I see your standard depth (30') built-in fridge?
Comments (1)I am having a cabinet made for a standard depth fridg so it will look built in. I am having it made 32 inches deep just in case. This is not a problem because it will be in an alcove section of the kitchen that is deep enough that I can build out all the cabinets around the fridge too. It will be pantry space on each side of the fridge and will all be 32 deep. I know that will be a deep pantry cabinet but I can really use the space. The kitchen is pretty small overall. Comments (13)The OP has said they are going to recess the refrigerator into the back wall/room, so they already have plans for dealing with the increased depth of the refrigerator carcass/box. From what I can tell, it's the doors that are bothering them...but, unless they get a fully-integrated, built-in ($$$) that's designed to have the doors flush w/the surrounding cabinets, they cannot do it b/c the doors have to be free to swing open. Vermonter...If you cannot recess the refrigerator into a room behind the refrigerator as well (b/c a wall will only gain you approx 3-1/2"), then either getting 27" deep base (or tall) cabinets or pulling them out from the wall approx 2" to 3" would be needed (to match the 28" depth or so...if it's important to you that the ref carcass be flush w/the surrounding cabinets/counter (The amount to be pulled out from the wall depends on the depth of the carcass. Also, since the refrigerator is next to a counter, remember the counter will extend approx 1-1/2" beyond the cabinets so the door will need to stick out beyond the counter as well.) Regardless, the doors will still have to stick out past the surrounding cabinets & counters... CircusPeanut...thanks for the correcting me about the Liebherr doors, I thought someone here had said the doors didn't have to stick out on Liebherr counter-depths......See Morewestsider40
