Wow, Tibbrix! Thank you! I guess green walls wouldn't be too much after all. Which one is your favorite?

Keep in mind that those pics are just approximations. Those colors will look different on your walls! So I gave the name of the paint I used, but I guess it's better to go with the color and depth you might like first.

Of those, I like Cascades and Rookwood Shutter Green the best. Do any strike your fancy? If so, what I'd do is bring my computer in to the store and hold chip cards up to it!

Casacades is a VERY deep color, though, with an LRV value of only 6; Rookwood Shutter Green LRV is only 7. So those colors are going to be MUCH dark IRL.

I would also look at Rookwood Sash Green and Rookwood Blue Green (Sherwin Williams).

I have BM Georgian Green, a mid-tone green that's a shade darker than Guilford Green, BM paint of 2015. In my north-facing LR/DR with large windows, it feels oppressive in the winter. I've been collecting lighter olive-toned paint chips since I need to stay in that family because of furniture, carpet, and custom drapes. Right now I'm liking SW Rice Grain. It's a nice organic green with some brightness, but without going chartreuse. It would work well with the navy in your carpet and the low light. Ramie is one deeper on the strip and also nice.

I'm also considering BM Gray Mirage. It looks like a soft grayed-down olive. It might have a touch of blue-green. Both look really good with my oak hardwoods and antique tiger oak sideboard. I haven't tested either of these yet.

I'm liking the bluer ones the best and rainstorm is my favorite. Look at BM Newburg green.

Oh wow, yes, that Newburg Green is beautiful. Also a very low LRV, though. But I think offices, with paintings on the wall, can handle deep colors.

Odd they call it "green" though, isn't it. Looks like a blue to me!

Just got back fro SW and picked up their historical collection chips. They were out of many of their chips, so I will stop back on Tuesday as well as get over to BM. I stuck the Dard Hunter Green chip up and it looks black. I think I need to go a bit lighter. I also put up Sheraton Sage and Edamame. I already had Olive Grove up - it's nice, too. Thank you for your suggestions - they have all been very helpful.

Yes, that's why I suggested bringing your computer to the store so you could find the colors that actually match what you see on the screen.

Do check out pps7's suggestion of BM Newburg. Really beautiful color.

I painted our office rainstorm and like it a lot-- but definitely is darker than the photoshop shows...

I like the rainstorm - just not sure I'd like it with my carpet, which is definitely green. Ideally, I would like to find a blue-green, heavy on the green. I'll pick up more chips tomorrow.

The problem with blue green is that olive is yellow green. Try BM Georgian Green or maybe Guilford Green if you want a deep color. Although it's in the blue green family, it reads olive in my room (though Guilford was minty IIRC). I wouldn't go any darker than Georgian Green. I think you'll want a little brightness in a green. And also a cleaner, brighter blue, more like a royal blue, with the olive.

However, you have nothing to reflect light in your office. The wood and dark paint absorbs light. Do you want to create a dark library feel? We keep our office area light and bright because we're in it all day.

I have no need for our office to be light and bright. I retired from teaching in June, so I don't spend nearly as much time in the office as I did when I was working. DH is semi-retired, so the same applies to him. Our "stuff" lends itself to kind of a "paneled library" feel. I'll check out Georgian Green - thanks.

Ooo, I like the Sioux Falls. LRV is 28, so it can definitely work.

A bit lighter is Stratton blue, LRV 36.9

I do like that Sioux Falls. I think it would look a lot like the Cascades mockup above.

I picked up some BM chips yesterday and played around with the blue greens. I've decided to stick with the olive shades. I am considering the following 4 colors. They're all on the dark side, but I am game for a new look in the room.

SW Edamame
SW Sheraton Sage
SW Olive Grove
BM Eucalyptus Leaf

Those are my top two as well. Edamame seems a little more yellow to me, but that might be a good thing in that room. I plan to look at the chips throughout the day and this evening, then make my final call. Thanks for the reminder about the 30% off.
