Mixing Frames in Art Arrangement - Your Thoughts..

User

Any time I've hung 2 or more prints/paintings/photos on a wall together I've had them in matching frames and mats.

I posted recently for help choosing art for over the bed in the MBR and I realize that I'm not drawn to big pieces of art. I have two watercolor prints that I bought some time ago because I liked them, but haven't had framed. And I found a simple landscape watercolor on Etsy that I think will complement them.

My BR has a lot of matching components and I was thinking it might be good to not have the frames match - to just choose mats and frames that best suit each print. I've seen this work on walls with many pieces, but wonder if 3 is too few to look right.

I would hang the largest one on the left and have the other two one over the other on the right to balance it out. They're all 3 watercolors in similar tones - the landscape, a bird, and a floral. Opinions?
