Thanks everyone! Sheree-I don't mind a bit if you copy it! We decorate it for Halloween and for Xmas. Believe it or not this past Halloween we had a "grown up" ask "who lives there?" We got a good giggle out of it. Anyhow...yes I have more pictures of current and past projects around here that I will post.

Chris, I would be interested in any tomato seeds that you may have extra of. My hubby and I were just talking about what to put in the veggie garden last night. My family likes canteloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, cumcumbers, and green beans. Would be interested in anything unusual, fun for the kids! But if you've got everything ready for Patty, or have it mailed, please don't worry about me!! I wasn't able to send to everyone either. I really wanted to though!! Patty, I'm going to have my daughter mail off my seeds today. I'll post when they've made it to the P.O. Have a good day everyone! Karen

Thanks for the comments and questions. I'm just a beginner with worms but will try to answer some of rickd's questions based on what I've read. The whole idea of a continuous flow through bin is that food and bedding go in the top and vermicompost comes out the bottom. Eventually (6 months or more from now) I should be able to rake some vermicompost out of the bottom. I haven't had any excess liquid coming out of the bottom of the bin, but if I did it would just pool in the bottom and evaporate. I also haven't had any problems with worms coming out the bottom (I think initially running the newspaper up the sides of the bin for 6-8" helped with this). As for creatures getting into the bottom, that hasn't been a problem so far but I'm concerned about ants and roaches when it gets warmer. I do have my share of fruit flies in the top but nothing unexpected. I'll add a link that lists a number of good discussions of different sized flow-through bins. Also, the links I had in the original post will answer most of your questions. Here is a link that might be useful: List of Flow Through Bin descriptions

My biggest disaster was my tree. Instead of my fake pre-lit one,DH insisted he wanted a real tree this year. The Saturday before Christmas,ge was nowhere to be found so I went to the lot alone. Found a bushy round balsam pine for $40 and lugged it home but we couldn't get it to stand up. The tree stand we own just wouldn't work,it kept tipping over. So we dragged it out to the curb, and i went back and got a table top tree for $9. It looks very cute, I was able to put our electric star and two strands of light on it and about two dozen smallish ornaments. Can't post a digital photo, but it was okay. I'm tired of looking at it, I hope to get it down sometime this week. Other than that, Christmas was good, food good, ate a lot, everyone enjoyed their gifts. And Happy New Year. I have my champagne and roast beef ready for tonight. And Eggs Benedict for brunch Jan 1.
