I listen to podcasts when I go to bed. My favourites are Good Job Brain a trivia podcast - the group is a little loud but they have good quizzes and topics of trivia.

A Way With Words, an etymology of words and sayings, it is a radio show and they have callers who call to ask about words and sayings, really interesting and a new show every Monday morning.

The British History Podcast, my favourite, Jamie Jeffers really does his research and really goes in deep into Anglo Saxon history and the Dark Ages where most historians just gloss over. I bought one of his Hipster Hadrian tee shirts.

The Food Programme, a BBC British show about food, not a cooking show. I really like this one.

America's Test Kitchen, call in show with some tips and recipes and usually an interview.

I used to listen to Stuff You Never Learned in History Class but when they put in 2 new narrators I didn't like their voices or the way they told the stories but the info is good.

Desert Island Discs from BBC, I like to listen also to a few Scottish podcasts because I miss hearing the Scottish accent of my family members no longer with us. Canadian CBC also has podcasts I listen to.

I listen to NPR radio & often will catch some of the programs I've missed on their podcasts.

I will listen to some tech related and security related podcasts, it goes by spells with me. I get tired of it so I quit for a while. Then I see something interesting and go listen for a while.

I may have mentioned before (and forgive me if so) that I think that for PC users, iTunes does the best job of aggregating, categorizing, and handling podcast downloads. It couldn't be any easier to use. For those with Ipads, the native podcast app does exactly the same thing from the same source.

Whether you're new or old to the world of podcasts, it takes just a click or two to search, find, and subscribe to what interests you. You can try their "Starter Pack" with a variety of titles. You can search by name, or by producer (like PBS or a PBS station), or by topic, or whatever. You can look at the most popular titles, overall or by category.

The itunes program is free, access to podcast through the Itunes store is also free, and they run on any kind of equipment. For instance, you can run itunes on a Windows PC and then transfer the podcast to an Android phone. Or on a Mac, etc.
All podcasts producers make their shows available to the iTunes Store because it's simply the most used and most highly trafficked window into the podcast world.

I use iTunes to get my podcasts and have the podcast app on my iPod. I often use my computer to listen to podcasts during the day as I am doing housework.

My SO has three different podcasts of his own. One is called Dying Generation, conversations with a friend of his about getting older. Another is called The Pope on Film, about films and other things often related to Ed Wood, and the other he's just started called Destination Utopia about how to make an idealized perfect world he does with my cousin's daughter.

I don't really think they'd appeal to the audience here, but I thought I'd throw them out. They are all on ITunes
