Why did Pottery Barn switch from BM to SW?
Comments (13)See the post linked below which explains it, but the 'meat of the matter' is here from that post - 'There was a thread below about Pottery Barn dropping Benjamin Moore, and some of the comments indicated that BM was also being dropped at some of the posters' local paint stores. I was buying paint today at my Benjamin Moore store (they sell only Benjamin Moore), so I chatted with the owners about the changes. They said that Warren Buffet's Hathaway Group owns BM and recently changed the CEO. As one of the new business decisions, the Pottery Barn contract wasn't renewed (the BM dealer wasn't happy about that). In addition, the connection to ACE/True Value is being discontinued. Soon, Benjamin Moore won't be offered at ACE/True Value. ACE will, of course, continue to offer the ACE paints and it will add the Valspar line. Benjamin Moore will only be offered at its own dealers, as used to be true in the past. (They also said that Lowe's has bought Orchard Supply and that Orchard will now carry Valspar, too, as Lowe's does. I wasn't clear if Orchard currently sells BM--but if they do, it will be dropped.) In a recent thread, someone commented that she has been having trouble getting BM samples. If she was going to an ACE/True Value store, it may be that the samples are no longer being replenished.' Here is a link that might be useful: Ben Moore availability...See MorePottery Barn no longer has Customer Comments?
Comments (84)I bought the cute PB Reindeer mugs last year for Christmas. We ended up not using them until this year. They were tucked away in my kitchen cabinet in their box until we brought them out this Christmas. I rinsed them out and used Two, one for hot chocolate and one for tea. The person with the tea suddenly had the hot liquid coming out at the base. At first she thought she had spilled it and grabbed a cloth. While this was happening the other person was pouring the hot water into the Chocolate mix in his cup, there was a cracking popping sound and the hot chocolatey liquid spewed out from a very large crack running vertically down the side. In the meantime the hot tea cup was continuously seeping from around the base of the cup but we couldn't see a crack anywhere. After cleaning up the mess and making sure no one suffered any burns, we cleaned out the cups and checked them out. One had an obvious crack that had occurred, while the other one used for tea had no discernibly visible crack. BUT we discovered that when you ran a wet finger around the bottom of the sides of the inside base of the cup , you could feel a hairline crack running almost completely around the inside base circumference. These cups come in a package of 4 and are expensive considering 2 out of 4 cracked when used for hot drinks. We are afraid to use the other two cups for fear of getting burnt. l wanted to read reviews of these cups but cant find ANY reviews on any of their products. This leads me to thinking they purposely don't have anywhere to post them. From a CS perspective this is a very poor optic, doesn't inspire brand loyalty or any desire to continue to purchase their products. Trust and belief in the brand providing quality products is seriously compromised. I also purchased a woven duvet cover that I have to needle in a couple of loose ends that were left sticking out the ”GoodSide” of the cover. Shoddy finishing work with a no care attitude....See MorePottery Barn $25 coupon- Someone pls use this before 12am!!
Comments (7)polly -I just tried to use it, but it said: Pottery Barn Credit Card Rewards Certificate Redemption for your Rewards Certificate will not be reflected in the Order Total. The credit will appear on your next Pottery Barn or Pottery Barn Kids Credit Card statement. So I think maybe you need to use it yourself. How about a cute H'ween or Christmas decoration? Thank you for offering though!...See MoreSectional (Boston Interiors, Pottery Barn, Circle Furniture, etc)
Comments (1)If you can afford to spend a bit more Stickley makes top notch stuff and if it matters to you it's all made in upstate NY. The people out at Stickley and Audi in Framingham are vey helpful (maybe a bit too pushy to start with) and it's just nice to walk around. Stickley has lots of options and styles and you'll get a well made sofa.....their leather is fantastic. I've bought some Stickley furniture over the years and I enjoy it's beauty every day....See Moremarlene_2007
