Just read on Yahoo that one of the words that should be banned from use is "hack", as in "tip". Thought of you when I read that one, lol. Sorry I couldn't provide the link, it wouldn't let me. So, happy hackless New Year to you!

Oh, Thank heavens!!!! I don't see that article, but thanks for bringing it to my attention Sleeper. Man, I hate that word, as you so obviously know! LOL

For our dear Canadian friends and other confection-deprived nationalities, let me present candy corn. And, in the believe-it-or-not department, today is actually, no-foolin', National Candy Corn Day. I kid you not. This is according to the National Confectioners Association, and I'm sure they wouldn't lie about it. Too bad it wasn't Nov. 1. It would have made a good trivia question. Patti, I used to eat them a layer at a time, but eventually gluttony prevailed and I just throw a bunch in my maw now, preferably with peanuts. Lorna - cashews sound even better. How are they? A new view....neighbor said he should have bought only "patio tomatoes"...I told him you can grow tomatoes on the patio no matter what....suggested an ice cream bucket. He went indoors. LOL

This Reuters article defines "hack" as unauthorized use of computer account. What jasdip and so many of us rail against is the use of "hack" meaning "tip" or "hint."

My favorite part of the aricle though...

I agree about the "improper" use of hack. And my all time favourite word that should be banned - gifting.
