Replacing a Jenn Air 34' gas cooktop
Comments (7)I've just been going through almost the same issue! I had a 30" electric Jennair cooktop with a downdraft. The only gas cooktop that seems to fit without some major changes was a gas Jennair. But from researching I really didn't think this was the cooktop I wanted and also as the previous poster said, overhead vent seems like a much better option. My venting is quite complicated, but the estimate I got is for $500, which is worth it to me. Installation is scheduled for 10/24. It may be worth considering at least getting an estimate for an overhead vent and installing a 36" cooktop....See More36" gas cooktop: Jenn-Air (6 burner) or Thermador (5 burner)?

Comments (20)We chose a JennAir 30” slide-in for our first induction range. We cook a lot and LOVE induction. However we have had too much trouble with the JennAir for the price. bought it in late 2018. The element burned out on the big oven (shortly before Thanksgicing during covid so we cooked our entire dinner in the Breville SmartOven Pro.) and took 3+ months to fix. The oven stopped heating properly a second time and this time it wasnt the element, it was the control board. $500 later, the iven works again but for how long. the service rep who did the repair said that both the board and element should last 9-10 years. more like 2-5. the top design also has a rubber gasket that collects food and, within 1 year, started breaking down. it is impossible to get the crumbs out. yuck No, I would not recommend the JennAir...See MoreGas Cooktop: Bosch or Jenn Air
Comments (3)Cyndi- My husband works in the appliance industry. Through his network, we were offered an incredible deal on our appliances during our remodel. What I have now (A 48" Kitchenaid dual fuel 6 burner range w/griddle) is my favorite oven/range/stovetop to date. I know the pro ranges may be a love/hate item w/the Houzz crowd...I'm in the LOVE crowd. It's precision cooking/baking with the easiest clean up I've had w/any unit. I highly recommend dual fuel (gas cooktop/electric oven) w/whatever brand or model you opt for given your space/budget. Best wishes in your selection, and take care. :)...See Morekevink109
