Okay. So I'm feeling reassured. I'll back up my data files again. Is there a simple command to back them all up at once - or a whole group at once. I'm sure the instructions are simple, but I've never done it. Grandms - I don't save most email, but I do save some. Some that are from a professional organization I'm on the Board of. Others that might include professional recommendations (plumbers, petsitters, etc) - things like that. I'm on a couple of listservs that often have very useful compilations of resources and professional recommendations.

When I go to that page, it does not list my system information. So I clicked each additional suggestion. No luck. Specifics are: The Firefox plugin is enabled. Nothing happens when I try to open the Java panel. It won't open. The instructions for clearing the cache do not seem right. When I go to the Edit button, I do not have a + or option to expand. So I could not do that one. I did try to find it through tools - options - advanced - network. It says I have no cache being stored for on or offline (I had just run ccleaner before =- so that cleared the cache, I think). I still selected clear now - but I couldn't tell if anything happened. So all the options either showed no problem =- or I couldn't not execute them. Any pointers would be great. Thanks. Lynn.

I attempted to remove Trend Micro per instructions of Ravencajun. It was a most complicated process and I finally gave up on it when I "unzipped" 22 folders half a dozen times and the same unzip box reappeared. Finally, I cancelled all of this incomprehensible stuff and went to the simple "add/remove" option that is part of my Windows program. I clicked on "remove", and it indicated I had about 70mb of Trend Micro stuff, and asked was I sure I wanted to remove. Yes, of course. The green progress bar (made up of little squares) ran in its box for ahile, I was asked to reboot, and it seemed like that was the end. I rebooted and looked in my files for traces of Trend Micro, and could only find a few titles with 0kb content. I deleted these titles. The Trend Micro icons are gone. Am I rid of it? Seems like I am. How to check? RB

I dunno, I'd try this again and follow it to the letter. Using McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool: - Double click the MCPR.exe - A Command Line window will be displayed, and then close automatically. - Wait for a second Command Line window to be displayed. Note: Do not double-click MCPR.exe again, you may have to wait up to 1 minute for the next window to appear. - After the second window appears, the program will begin the cleanup. - Observe the installation, which could take several minutes. The following message will be displayed in the Command Line window: The machine must reboot to complete the un-installation. Reboot now? [y.n] - Press Y on the keyboard. - Wait for the computer to restart. - All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.
