Hair cut advice

Have any of you had a V cut or A U cut on the back of their hair? I have shoulder length fine straight hair that is cut straight across in the
The back. I'm not really liking it and wonder what the pros and cons are of these angled cuts. I like the look, but don't
T know for sure n
How it would work for my hair.

remember the old v sasson cuts? but it really takes a great cutter to do the precision cuts....i'd consider shape of your face, thickness of your hair and do your homework by finding a picture...remember if you like throwing it up in a pony or bun you won't be able to...and do you have the time when your late going out??? lol....

I personally do not like the V shape on me. For many years I have gotten my hair cut straight across with a little angling on the sides and end up with a U shape. The way my hair grows and breaks within a few weeks I have a sharp V. My hair is rather fine too and I think the V makes it look thin in the back. I like my hair better when I can make it look fuller. But honestly to each his own. If you think you will like it then by all means go for it. You never know until you try!

Nice that you are going to donate:). Yes, you have to bleach your hair where you are going to put the pink. In fact, when it grows out or fades out, you will have bleached yellowy color remaining. Sorry, don't live in your area, but I would suggest you get a referral from a very reliable source before going forward. Best of luck.

Has anyone else had the problem that you can never dry/style it the same way the stylist does while you're in the chair? My hair usually looks fine when I walk out but I can never replicate the look at home, then I start to see the problems. Why won't she undercut the bottom layer as I asked?? I know she takes a tad off, but I can't really see what she's doing at the time. I've been going to Supercuts for many years and try different people, but so far have only had one good one whom I haven't seen since. I tried a different salon and paid 3-4 times as much, only to have pretty much the same cut. My daughter will get to trim my hair today when she visits. :)

btw.. the only way to create problems with a L ... is to give it a haircut at height ... and the reason is.. with no insult to the root mass ... when you cut to 3 inches or so.. it will grow 3 feet next year from the cut .. but if you make that cut at say.. 3 feet .. and it grow s the new shoots at said 3 feet.. and get to 6 feet next year ... the second year.. to 9 feet ... and the thing collapses ... perhaps a bit of an exaggeration ... but i hope you get the point ... no haircuts.. per your title .. ken

I used to cut my own hair. My HS grad picture is a 'selfed' haircut and its really not bad. I would cut my Mom's for her, friends. BUT, that's been a long, long time ago and my cut is the basis for my entire look ;0) I wouldn't consider attempting it myself other than nip 1/4" at the bangs maybe a week before my standing appointment. Really, two people in the last 30 years have gotten the cut right so that its 'fix it and forget it' for all day whether wind, nap, gardening, whatever I'm doing. I've stuck to them like glue. I have an appt April 8 that I don't know if I'll be able to keep. Small shop, two stylists. There is rarely more than 4 total at any one time inside even though spacious square footage. Both stylists seem to begin and complete one appointment at a time and not overlap, no cutting of one while a color is processing on a second. Each customer has their full attention until finished.

I've had both an angled cut and a stacked cut and prefer the way a stacked cut looks on me. My hair is very fine, but I have lots of it, so any cut with heavy layers works best for me.
