Hydropetunia...from I can tell you have no holes drilled into the bottom (the lid) of the support that holds the soil. You need holes there 1/4" in diameter several of them to allow aeration for the roots. Second you didn't mention if you have drilled an overflow hole in the side of the container, which needs to be about 3/8" below the level of where the soil will sit. this prevents the potting mix from getting over watered. Lastly being in Z8b (I'm in S. Texas) the dark colored container in mid-late summer will really get heated up to the point of cooking the roots. Might want to try a lighter colored one or try shading the sides and as far as a tight fit, I used fiberglass window screen and lined the bottom with it( cutting out the hole for the wick) heres a pic taken 4 weeks ago of my BrandyBoys..they are bigger now. :) Here is a link that might be useful: This is where I got the idea of my HM EB

I agree with what is being said here...pay it forward to others when you get going...last spring I was a newbie, and people even sent me boxes of PLANTS to get started, and I felt so blessed and honored...so now I plan to do the same this season...and I have been sharing seeds so much I cant keep up...LOL One thing I did this year was kept a notebook of all names and addresses and what people sent to me....WELL, when Christmas came, i sent MOST of them a card, just with a thank you for making my year special...It was one way I could think of letting them know what they did meant something to me... I think the newbies should know...we have all been there, and started out the same way...SO just help out someone else next season...or grow some extra plants and veggies to share with someone...I know the nursing homes LOVE to get flowers to cheer up the patients, and the food pantries ALL need more...so PAY IT FORWARD. I have to say....I think gardeners are the most generous " group" of people....

Thanks, Caelian and Mark! I'm getting excited about 2013 as well. As much as I like having a few pods lingering this late, I would rather have a harvest when everyone else's pods are coming in during the Summer season :-) For the Ghost Jam, yes I'm going to use Pineapple and some golden sweet Meyer Lemons for the fruit, and then these Yellows Bhuts for heat. Tons of sugar, too, of course. I almost forgot to mention....last week, some awful critter wreaked havoc in my cold-frame, tearing out my screen vent, punching a hole in the wall, snapping branches off my Hungarian Wax, Red Bhut Jolokia, Morouga, and completely knocking over my Manzano (which had been doing wonderfully in the cold compared to the other peppers). Anyhow, I'd been waiting and waiting on my two Manzano pods, only to find them both on the ground. So, they never had a chance to ripen... and this is as far as I got....

Hey man looks like you did a stand up job fixing your pool by reading the comments. For some reason I am unable to see the pictures. I would love to see them though if you would be willing to send them to me? Also I just recently purchased a fixer upper house myself with a pool in the back yard. The previous owners filled it in with dirt when they got to old to take care of it. After digging a little of it up I have determined that it was a liner pool that was a wood frame.
