Hello everyone,

Seeking trades, I am interested in acquiring varieties on my want list.

I have many varieties available on my have list for regular trades, but I am offering special trades of the following:

Persicaria orientalis (aka Polygonum orientale) Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate (aka Prince's Feather)

I have thousands of these seeds available. I am offering 100 seeds for 25 of your seeds (in other words, the equivalent of 4 packs for 1 of your packs). Offer works for as many trades as you want. For example, if you have qty. 25 each of 5 varieties that are on my want list I will trade you 500 of these seeds if you so desire. I will go as large a trade as I have seed of this variety available.

Impatiens walleriana Common Impatiens, Single Flowers, Mixed Colors

Same offer as previous.

I also have German Brown rocambole, Russian Red rocambole, and NoID purple stripe garlic bulbils available for trade, left over from fall planting season. These bulbils average around pea size and will produce large rounds or small cloved bulbs in the first year. They have been kept in cold storage, some are just starting to sprout with little 1/16 inch long shoots. Be aware that depending on the trade there might be a shipping cost imbalance that will have to be addressed because the bulbils are larger and heavier than seeds.

Approximately 1400 bulbils are in one pound. One pound of these bulbils fills a cool whip-type container. I estimate I have around 5,000 bulbils available for trade.

Photo taken 01.21.15 shows German Brown bulbils still on the intact umbels. I will remove the bulbils from the umbels to accomodate shipping, this will not damage the bulbils in any way. If desired, click on image to see larger.

I am still seeking named varieties of tobacco, non-ornamentals only.

I prefer that people post in this thread so I can better keep track. This offer is good until April 01, 2015 or until I cancel it. If I get a good response I may temporarily halt this offer so that I can focus on completing trades. I check feedback of all prospective trading partners prior to agreeing to a trade.

I'll work on getting an overdue email to you. I've sorted lots of seeds and should be able to match many of your wants, especially if you will take a chance on some older seeds of some....and I don't need extra seeds in trade! I've got plenty and that was driven home as I sorted the last few days :)

BTW, your page is getting even more informative and fun to look at. The photos look like recent additions. Very nice.

I grow inchellium red from seed savers along with several other types. Of coarse most of the best is in the ground for the winter but I have enough that I have been eating to get you started . I heard rumors that the central north area had a severe garlic crop failure. I am in south east iowa and much of my crop has dried early in storage but the inchelium red is better than the others. Hmmm - I had the same problem you had with probably the exact same source in Washington but with 4 varieties - German Brown, Tzan, Romanian Red and White Iowa. I had them in right next to my old standby's Metichi and Siberian and of the new ones, I had around 80% winter kill and the rest are anemic growers at best. First time in 10 years from this source that things just didn't turn out as planned so I'm doing exactly the same as you are - growing the remaining ones out for bulbils and going for the 2 year replenishment cycle. Last time I did this, I replanted the bulbils in fall on 2 inch centers and got nice rounds for the next year's planting along with enough extra rounds to use like standard cloves for cooking. I've tried planting the largest cloves off of smallish bulbs before but I haven't had a lot of success that way.

Disappearing Garlic Bulbil Bed, What to Do?

I weeded my old garlic bed (6' x 20') today. The bed has been empty after the garlic was harvested. I found so many volunteer garlic plants. I planted German Red bulbils in this bed. It is amazing that there are so many of them. I already harvested several hundreds. I believe I planted about 660 bulbils. I'm going to wait for one or two weeks and fill in the empty spot with the same bulbils or even some garlic rounds in the empty spots. This sounds a lot of work since they are still densely planted. But it won't be precise. And I'll only fill in large empty space. I have another bulbil bed in similar situation. I'm going to weed it this week or weekend. I think I left even more bulbils there. So I may just let it grow by itself since there are 14 rows, 9'x16'. Very hard to get in the bed.

(You were looking for Tobacco seeds.) Havana Gold tobacco, Anasazi beans and pink tip greasy beans.

I do not have the greasy beans listed on my page since I do not have enough to make more than one offer. I also have Golden flax seed or Spangler Bean if those interest you instead. The spangler and pink tip greasy beans are not found in the typical seed catalogs. I took special lengths to acquire these seeds. Greasy beans are noted as the best tasting green beans and they can well too. Would you like to trade?

My goodness. You really have a green thumb. I can send a pad (s) from our prickly pears for garlic bulbs. I live in Texas so I will let you pick what would be good here. I am not sure what variety this is, but I can tell you this they make the best jelly. I also have chili petins seeds. For being the size of a pea that pack one heck of a kick to salsa or anything for that matter.
