I saw a few minutes of an interview with Steinem last night on TV, where she was talking about how, in patriarchy, women and the natural world with which they are often associated were gradually reduced in positions of power and association with the divine over a long period of time. I'll have to find this interview and use it in my course of ecofeminism. In the meantime,I recommend seeing the film. I've been thinking about it all morning, especially some of the tight shots of either Crowe's or Bale's face and the subtleties of the relationship between the two.

I've had success with camouflage. Birds just sit right next to the spinning, shining disks and peck away. I just sprinkle anything green- grass, leaves, etc. down the row after planting, making the new sprouts less obvious. Repeat until sprouts are bigger and less tempting.

My favorite is Ozzie because of how he just has it all - fitness, outdoor savvy and skill, and brains (I thought!). To me, he deserves to win...well up until he had to blab to 3 people that he has the immunity idol! What the heck was he thinking?! Did he not know that the teams would be switched up at some point? Or that his friends are going to have to be his adversaries at some point, when the players dwindle down to just a few?! And even if none of these things were to happen, it only makes sense to keep that information to yourself. ANYONE would know that without thinking, it seems to me. And when he took it from his backpack and hid it on their island/beach, I just knew they were going to have to switch camps and then he would be separated from it. But luckily for him, the new group that he is in is the one that went to the same camp he was at previously. I can see that he might think someone could sneak into his backpack and find it, since that is what happened last season, but still, hiding it on the island seemed risky too. I also like James and I like Cirie too. I know she has some 'anti-fans' and I can see why, but to me, she is playing the game smart, in the only way she has open to her. She wants to win as much as anyone, and she realizes it won't be by strength or athleticism. But, yeah - voting the strong ones off is risky too, with competitions to win. But I think it is a risk she has to take if she wants to have a chance to win. But with her stategy, Ozzie may be the next target. When it comes down to INDIVIDUAL challanges, Ozzie (Ozzy?) will be almost assured to win them all, right to the end. ALthough if James is still there, he may be right up there with Ozzy. I don't feel one way or the other about Chet, really. I realize he is NO help to his team, but then that was just HORRIBLY disrespectful of 'Tank' to purposely and disdainfully drag him along. That guy is just full of spite. Ugh! Not pretty! I don't like Parvati either. Mostly, I think, because of how she uses sex appeal and heavy flirting etc. has her weapon - her leverage to keep in the game. She did it in her other season too, and now it's the same in this one. It smacks of 'prostitution' - not in actuality, but in attitude and spirit. Joel - I really dislike how he hammered on and on at Cirie one or two episodes ago when she dared to disagree with him over how that group should vote. I realize he wanted his way as much as she wanted her view to predominate, but still, he was just so unrelenting and ugly about it. The weak ones banding together to make it farther in the game, at the expense of the stronger ones, kind of goes against what we feel is normal and right, but it certainly is inovative and a good plan for them personally. Otherwise they are just pawns to be dispatched without a thought, as soon as necessary. Oh! And I have to hand it to Amanda for catching that shark! Barehanded, wasn't it? I still don't understand why people who have nothing invested in a thread comment, lording over their superiority for not getting suckered into watching this _______(insert comment) show. Good for you, pat yourself on the back. It's not true that Dany's character shift from good to evil came out of nowhere. Her cruelty was shown throughout the series. Remember her reaction when her brother was melted to death with gold? Or the slavers she crucified? Banishing Jorah? I didn't like that they made her all mad queen to the extent she would destroy King's Landing, though. That was ridiculous. I thought the writing of season 8 was atrocious. And the lack of production detail, as evidenced by the coffee cup and water bottle which showed up on the finished product. Just another signal that everyone was phoning it in. Brienne and Jaime's love scene was so totally out of character for either, it was nauseating. Arya's love scene made me think I was watching child porn. I know she's supposed to be late teens, but I still looked at her like a little kid. Jaime returning to die with Cersei was not cool. I thought it would have been poetic justice that Jaime would return to chop her head off. Now that would have been cool, and a fitting end to a cruel despot. Also repayment for Missandei. Jon being banished to the wall was dumb, there's no need for anyone to be at the wall now that the night king and the army of dead is gone. At least I hope he finds love with a wildling, ha ha. I hope this pathetic ending to a once epic show will spur GRRM to get off his lazy butt and finish the series the way it deserves to be finished.
