You are lucky indeed to have so much space that you can have six big bulbs in one pot. Pot space is a huge issue here, so all bulbs that tolerate it are raised to their limit. The Jamaican doesn't care. It have good paper layering. Well, it was twelve scapes. I hit a 3? Hmm. Anyway, a full adult bulb is not as large as the biggest amaryllises I have seen in bulb size, but it like a very big onion. So I mean from one bulb. I keep an adult with its myriad little offsets in a pot. And the rest, the money part? This bulb has gotten around. It was brought in in '79 as I remember, and hase been given away many many times. My friend wanted it to run free, not to turn it into a money thing. So I hold to his spirit. If I create something which is free-flowering, good-looking and hardy as a horse I'll spring it on him. See what he thinks. As for the Jamaican, I'm sure others have done who knows what with it.

I have been looking at the acne version for my kids. A reviewer on Amazon was also mad about the counter and posted a way to circumvent. 1. Open the unit, and replace the four AA batteries. 2. Connect a wire between the POSITIVE terminal and the labeled RESET copper pad on the printed circuit board. Press the POWER ON button. 3. Move the wire to connect the POSITIVE terminal and the labeled TEST copper pad on the printed circuit board, and press the POWER ON button. 4. The counter will reset from 0 to 30 uses. 5. The manufacturer deliberately drains the four AA batteries after the initial 30 sessions to thwart users from just RESETTING For acne, $30 per month is less than we spend on prescription drugs so it might be worthwhile. I am going to wait for some more reviews.

Sallysue: or lending dh! OK - here's something more to say; sort of. That Cushy Cupboards stuff is seriously weird. Or at least un-American or something; the company that is. Who's ever heard of such a good product, then, having zero shelf space? I mean, before I shell out at least 30% more for a product of questionable necessity to begin with, I do want to see it, and not at my own expense. That's why there are retail stores (the "not at my own expense" part is wrong of course; it is and comes in their markup). So I was curious as to why it isn't available hardly anywhere. No 'contact us' on the website but there is an LLC name; I googled that and called ... someone's condo's kitchen I think! I spoke with a very nice man who is the seller of it, wouldn't tell me how the stuff comes to exist (his prerogative not to, but I'm curious all the same), explained he has no distributor, but why he doesn't just drive north for an afternoon to Ground Zero of consumerism on the globe, which is about 50 miles north of him (cf Whole Foods Parking Lot of earlier), I just don't get. "Not in the plans". OK, I suppose that doesn't make you weird, but it sure makes you a curiosity in 21st century America. Geesh, you'd think at least VT Country Store? Why sell a product if you're not going to sell it? Probably, somehow, he just happens to have the stuff, maybe, and a friend runs DeNaults, maybe, or something? ... I dunno. Not my business, obviously. But it's awfully hard for me to shell out all that moola w/o seeing it, especially given qualms about using anything at all. Oh well, what a curiosity. I assumed it had to be some sort of space-program spinoff, the material that is. When I suggested that possibility the puzzlement on the other end of the phone line was palpable; guess not! Destined to remain an enigma.

That top pic is beautiful, but I would have several concerns 1. Getting it flat. If your subfloor isnt perfect, then it is likely you will have dips in your final surface. This isnt as noticeable with normal hardwood, but with large sheets, it may be very noticeable. 2. How do you attach it? You dont want movement, not so much side to side, but bowing up in the middle or at the edges. I suppose you could glue it down, like how many of the engineered hardwoods and laminates are installed. 3. Getting the edges smooth where one sheet touches the next. There may be variations in your subfloor and in your plywood thickness, so you will have to sand the edges, and hope that they never bow up. But you have to be careful or you will sand right through the outer layer of the plywood and the core will be exposed. I think if I were going to do this, I would put down solid 3/4" tongue and groove as my subfloor. Then I would put down 3/4" sheets of plywood...maple, birch, oak, cherry...whatever species you choose to go with. These sheets are extremely smooth from the lumber yard, so I dont see any need to sand them further, except where one sheet meets the next. I would use a small hand orbital sander and 180-220 grit to smooth out the edges, the big sanders will eat through it so fast that you will likely ruin it. I would also probably want to put down at least a few mechanical fasteners (aka, nails) as well as glue. Id probably use a nail gun with 16 gauge nails, and mainly go around the edges. Be sure to putty the holes. Then stain it all and poly it, just like you would a piece of furniture. Because that is basically what you are using, cabinet grade plywood.
