A Merry Christmas to all of you - or alternate solstice holiday of your choice, of course. Here in the Bay Area of California (not far from San Francisco) the weather is damp and chilly, foggy and rainy. It makes my winter garden cleanup days less convenient, but knowing we get all our rain in the winter helps me shrug it off. I'm done outside for the day, and have come inside to warm up, play on the computer, and who knows, maybe even read.

I'll add my Merriest Christmas greetings to all good RP friends. This year we in Ohio will not have the ice and snow which ruined Christmas for many last year. It will be balmy, with temps in the 30s and 40s(F). We are blessed to have all 3 of our children with us, and an extra - son's lovely girlfriend. Best greetings of the season to all! Mele Kalikimaka from sunny O'ahu. I actually miss the cold for Christmas, somewhat -- well, I like the idea better than the reality. I was on the mainland at Thanksgiving where I thought I was freezing my patootie but it was actually in the 40s Fahrenheit. I sure will be glad when the powers-that-be give us back paragraphing! Thanks to the "Pineapple Express" that Frieda has sent our way, our temps are way above average and the warm monsoon rain has melted the snow on the local mountains. No skiing, snowshoeing or sledding. :-( The rivers are raging but the boats with the Christmas lights in the bay are cheery. So is the company -- and the food and life, in general. Merry Christmas and all the best in 2006 from Vancouver, Canada!

Compliments of the season to all RP posters. It is Christmas Day evening and I had a pleasant day sitting by the pool with family and friends, tucking into a cold collation and watching the children play with their new pool toys and showing us the life-saving technique they were taught at swimming classes. In Perth, Western Australia it is 27C. Not too hot or cold for comfort. I watched the Queen's speech on TV and will finish the evening with coffee, mince pie and a well-thumbed Vanity Fair. Good reading to all in the New Year!

Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year from Canandaigua, N.Y. in the Finger Lakes, south of Lake Ontario. Our weather is drizzly and gray-no snow and temps. in the 40's. We are having a quiet day with dinner and lots of napping. Elder daughter arrives from San Diego tomorrow night so our gift giving and "special" dinner will be on the 27th this year. Chiming in late from Tidewater, Virginia, to wish everyone a properous and peaceful new year. Very mild weather here, after an abnormally cold start to the winter. Some of the trees are still holding on to their leaves.... What a nice xmas gift it would be to delete the enormous, intrusive ads....
