Well my brain is all shook-up and I am trying to link Adele, Peter, an angler, 60 mins, a dead pervert, & a famous fictional woman who heard noises . . .and was she the one who had an unspeakable experience abroad . .. The only link between Adele and Peter could be the Heidi stories, as she was really called Adeleheide and had a friend called Peter. Now, in volume 7, did Peter have some goat-fetish that led to his demise after H heard 60 mins of bleating and what-not and didn't like what she found going on? Probably not as Jan wouldn't consider Heidi a 'fine novel'. What about the angler? I can only think of Isaak Walton, but he was fact not fiction and Mr Jeremy Fisher. I don't remember one of his tadpoles being called Adele .. . . Oh! How can I end the Old Year not knowing the answer.

I guess I'm confused now. I thought the Adele thing was one puzzle and the Peter thing was another. I didn't even consider we were supposed to link them.

So we have Adele the child in Jane Eyre. We need Adele having to do with an hour and Adele in a story about a woman abroad who hears things. One of them is a short story.Now the odd thing is that Adele in Jane Eyre is a companion to a woman abroad who hears things..right? We have St. Peter,Lord Peter Whimsy and now we need Pete the Perv. This is NOT how I wanted to spend New Years's Eve.

Don't! Just because we didn't get it right, doesn't mean it wasn't a good exercise for our brain! I think we were holiday sotted, and had to figure out how it works.

Why would you stop just because we couldn't figure it out? We got the first one with no problem. I had fun trying to guess these. I should have figured out Adele in Passage To India but have never read Story Of An Hour. Keep them coming. Maybe one a week and then if we don't get it,let us know the answers on Monday. Maybe you should start with nursery rhymes. LOL
