JK Rowling's Announcement

For those that are fans of the HP series, I was wondering what your reaction was to her outing of Dumbledore this past weekend. I'm sure there are many stories circulating, the link below just happened to be the first I ran across to include for more info.

People are saying she's revolutionizing childrens literature with this news, and the reactions I've read seem to be all across the board from incredible support to hateful condemnation. Others seem to think it's a publicity stunt--though I can't imagine her thinking she needs any additional exposure.

I can't say that I really care one way or another about his sexual orientation. It has no relevance to my love for these books. Dumbledore was and always will be one of my favorite characters, and this doesn't do anything to change my opinion. I do wonder what details I glossed over in previous reads that might come to the surface when rereading with this knowledge.

This proves how much history and background Rowling gives each character. It's obvious that Harry's was not the only life meticulously imagined. She must have many more books of ideas bumping around in her head about the hidden lives of all the characters that didn't get as much time in the limelight.

Here is the link for more information -- though I'm not sure I've attached it correctly.
