Memoirs of a Geisha- Arthur Golden

What did you guys think of this book? I read this book several years ago, a little before the movie came out. Im not normally one to buy new 'popular' books, but this one intrigued me and I bought it. I loved the book. I thought it was fantastically written.

And, as I like to call it, all the 'elements' seemed to be in good balance. The writing, plot, structure, dialouge, romance, action, etc. worked in harmony and blended seamlessly together. I also liked that the tone of the book was consistant through out. The ending was good and well thought out; the ending didn't just flop.

I think Arthur Golden is a brillian writer and amazing storyteller. I couldnt put this book down. I was amazed at how quickly I read it. I looked for more books by Golden at the bookstore, but there didn't seem to be any.

But thats just me. What did you think of this book? Was there anything that seemed inaccurate or off about it to you?

Ps. I was mightily dissapointed with the movie. The photography (or would one say cinimatography?) was wonderfully artistic, but the story wasn't conveyed well, probably because the movie was too short to do it justice. I thought it would have been much better with a narrator too.
