17 boxes and yes... depression!

Yesterday I bought new bedroom furniture. New to me, it is an antique mahogany set that I adore! Slightly beat up ut charming. It is being delivered on Friday which means I have to tidy up my room so the furniture will fit. (Dresser, highboy and vanity)

That meant moving the books.

We needed seventeen boxes to empty the bookshelves in my room. Seventeen boxes. Now then, I am very excited about the new furniture. I had been looking for the right stuff for two years now.

But as we were packing up the boxes, I felt funny. Odd. Out of sorts. It finally hit me. I was DEPRESSED about moving the books. THe weird part is that the books are not going to a charity shop or being donated to a book sale. They are going to the basement. I am keeping all of them. But I was depressed about moving them.

Am I strange? Anyone else have this difficulty in parting ways with books? (And I shall confess right now that these books were not all favorites. They were part of my vast TBR stack that I keep scattered throughout the house.)
