Do you want a DVD about Canada for kids? Maybe this would be good? Canadian Geographic DVD set Or do you want a fictional kids movie set in Canada? These are two classics: Never Cry Wolf Anne of Green Gables Keep in mind that DVDs from Canada are different that European DVDs. They won't play on other region's DVD players unless you have a multi-region DVD player. My brother lives in Switzerland and he bought one for about 50 SF. They are almost impossible to find in North America. BP

I just read Gone Girl, I think I picked it up from a recommendation here. It was good, I really liked it. Lots of twists and unexpected turns. I even paid the rental book fee instead of waiting on the list. It's $3 for a 21 day rental. I figure the library needs the money so I splurged. I usually just wait on the list but I couldn't find anything else I wanted and the title jumped out at me. It was definitely worth $3 to read it. My library just put a kiosk, like a vending machine, in at my community center. It has movies, kids book, and adult books. I can take out a book, from the vending machine, while I'm at the gym. How cool is that? The kiosk books are free, the rentals are extra copies of the extremely popular titles and are kept in the main branch. I imagine it's a nice little money maker for them. I did make a note of a few new books from this thread. Thanks.

I subscribe to Simple Scrapbooks and find a lot of good ideas in it. I have a softcover book that I refer to everytime I work on a page--Creating Keepsakes, A Treasury of Favorites. Title: Scrapbook Tips and Techniques. $16.96 I got it at Michael's with a 40% off coupon. I'll be watching this thread for more ideas. Have fun with your granddaughter and her scrapbooking projects.

I think it not a good idea to just haul it down the street and abandon it as I'm sure that either you or the loan company can get more for it from a wrecker than the cost of towing. If a friend may be willing to put a chain on it and haul it ... somewhere ... check what your laws are, for around here individuals who tow without being licensed and insured as a towing agency are liable to be ticketed for likely a larger fine than a legit. tow would cost. If you have your car serviced at a small agency, they may have good suggestions for a tower. They may have some useful advice as to what path to follow in your current circumstance. Also quite likely they'll know a good wrecker to negotiate with. ole joyful
