Are you talking about the same author of Marriage of Sticks? If so - no sorry I don't care for his stuff at all. His work is general fiction, with a 'post modern' feel. Some consider him contemproary fantasy or horror, but neither seem to fit for me. Just weird books. A good friend of mine loves his stuff and I have tried a few. And based on reviews on Amazon, he does have a very loyal following. But they are just too weird for my taste.

Please don't take it personally if others don't happen to like your favorite author. He is just not my taste, tho I have tried (as I said a dear friend is a big fan) As for the blurbs - I have long ago avoided them no matter who writes them. They usually are full of hyperbole, and are often bought and paid for. I do trust people in book forums to give me the scoop - those comments usually are just perfect in giving me a sense of a book.

And no I doubt very much you are the only one who likes JC. I don't understand tho 'this kind of read'? The adjectives the blurbs use define some of my favorite books, so....

Now - if someone was interested in starting to read him, which one would you suggest he start with? And which one is your favorite? Those comments will give us much more to work with.
