Luanne, your pictures are beautiful as usual and I hope Vintage Gardens has got some of them on their website. Still hoping for that picture of Till Uhlinspiegel, sometime..... You have caused greed in my heart but I have to hold myself down to the usual 8. Try getting the dudes out with the pickaxe 8 times a summer. They're sooooo tired. Things are fine over here. Being in a business that caters to the wealthy, I'm sick of their crap. We shall ply our trade anyway. Everything I buy sez IGA on it now and we're getting chickens, a woodstove, a pressure cooker, and putting in a big veggie garden. I thoroughly am going to vote, finally, though my candidate got trounced. All through that episode I kept remembering some rather painful things. I was trying to explain to my daughter today how they would not put the power bill in your name. If you did not have a husband, you had to get somebody to pretend to be your husband or get your father to do it. For instance, they would not allow girls to be paperboys in my youth. We were too stupid, and it was too dangerous. I knew what I wanted to buy with the money, too, back in 1967. A city lot in my hometown was a hundred dollars at the time. I wanted to buy real estate. Yeah, it goes around everywhere. Yep, I got the idea from Charley Brown. Whatever occurs, I am thankful for the Antique Rose Web, for this community of friends.

What fun to see all these! Of the new introductions, I think the hybrid rugosa 'Wild Spice' rates a mention! I once had a hedge of Rosarie de l'Hay, one of my earliest to bloom, and it also had a glorious clove-spiked fragrance. Most rugosas share a unique quality to their scent. Glad to see 'Parole' on the list--a Kordes also sold as Buxom Beauty, a rose which leaped onto my wish list the first I heard of it!

Beautiful blooms, Ronda! DD is a phototropic rose. That means the color changes with the temperature and the amount of sun it gets. Mine can be any where from nearly snow white with very little red to nearly all red with some deep cream/almost yellow at the base of the petals and anything and everything else in between. This is the same bloom over the course of about 24 hours. And then the next day. But this is how I like it best.

Actually, La Trinidad is a S. microphylla. This has heart-shaped leaves and is a big plant. Greggii forms have narrow, linear to elliptic leaves with smooth edges. Big Pink and Dwarf Pink are two common pink greggiis.
