I just found this site looking for why my legs and feet hurt when I stand and walk. I just turned 65 but have been in this pain (they say fibromyalgia) after several car accidents - I use to drive for a living - worked on machines and computers. I also moved into a house that needed a lot of repair. But it seems like the pain just keeps getting worse - I have been tested and tested and they say all the blood test - they all come back normal! I keep trying every supplement that people suggest or what I can find on the internet. I have been dealing with this well over 15 yrs and in the last 4 it is so bad I cannot walk my dogs even. It is so not fair for them. I have started to try CBD - some days it works well - They had me on so many opiods and muscle relaxers it was ridiculous and I wont take anymore. To be able to be me again would be such a blessing!

Sweeby - my head is telling me the same, hold tight, although I'm still looking. There is a part of me that wants to live a lifestyle I like which includes a house. I want a big vegetable garden, I want to foster pets for the Humane Society. I want to paint and decorate. I don't want to have to move if the landlord decides to sell. That old "what if I'm hit by a bus next week". Trying to find the balance is hard. As for Dayton, that gets complicated too. The Air Force Base here seems to be a large economic engine for the east and southeast side. Its not really "Dayton". A couple of small "parts" that were brac'ed from other places in the country are coming here so right now the base is actually getting a little bigger. But as with all cycles, the military, and perhaps more the Air Force than the Army, will probably be going through a funding contraction for the next 8 years. So while WPAFB is not going to go away, a % of billets at individual entities all over the base might be cut. I suppose its possible I could get RIF'ed (reduction in force/pink slipped) or a early out in say 6 years. While Cleveland et al. don't have bases I suspect it is the same with all cities in the nation. Lower middle-income areas are struggling, contracting, "dying". The bigger proportion of a lower middle income population a city has, the more impact it has on a city as a whole. I.e. a lower middle income (manufg based, or retail tourist based Las Vegas) city would be "dying". I think this whole meltdown is based on jobs. It took years for the off shore movement to finally catch up and start to really show itself.

So, do you guys agree with that author that the research done was BOGUS that said lung cancer was not linked to smoking -- or do you NOT agree with him, and think that the research was right and that smoking is not linked to cancer? You do realize I posted a situation that was in reverse of what you would have thought, right? -and that in fact, almost everyone would agree with, right? So, you are in fact going off a on a guy you most probably agree with. Do you even know you are doing that? Maybe that pancake you're looking at is actually a waffle - better take a closer look - LOL I was using that author's thoughts about the smoking/cancer research as an example of how Bogus research can be. Those lung cancer/cigarette research studies are pretty well known 'bought' research studies that have been discussed by thousands of people -some more crazy than others. I've posted another link about possible skewed research for more or less the same reasons -- because the study was 'bought' or paid for by a cigarette company --- maybe you can go off on that author too especially if you agree with him ;-) Time to flip that pancake... Anyway, I have something to comment about from susan's link: "Women who remembered their parents smoking around them were 26 percent more likely to have had difficulty becoming pregnant and women exposed to any secondhand smoke were 39 percent more likely to have had a miscarriage, Peppone's team reported". Women who remembered their parents smoking around them... are also probably 15-20 years older than those that don't. (More 42 year olds had parents that smoked than 20 somethings). So, maybe it's age that is contributing to fertility and miscarriage issues, and not smoking. You would think that their sample would be using women of the same age. But, for some reason, I doubt it... I bet the women with 'issues' are also significantly older. Did they factor that in? Bottom line, research studies are generally paid for by someone and certain results are expected. Questions can be asked in ways and information can be left off to come to almost any conclusion a researcher wants to come to. It's not certain that the findings are necessarily wrong; but they are often not the smoking gun that so many suggestible readers and viewers want them to be. Rosefolly - What a surprise to find someone here whose father invented the very thing we're talking about! Since I didn't touch the epoxy (wore new workmen's cotton gloves), that isn't what caused my skin to react. It was on my face only. The lumps were below the skin surface. But, it was combined w/ paint; so the mix is maybe what did it? After the anti-biotics, my skin was as smooth as glass. And the project? A great success. I'd painted the porcelain wall tiles, tub, sink, toilet in my new apartment. Not only did it look custom-made, but it shone as if all new. Even scrubbing w/ scouring powder didn't mar the finish -- that's why epoxy is needed in the paint. People asked me if I'd had the bathroom remodeled...a neighbor saw it, did his w/ epoxy paint, too. In spite of my little debaucle w/it , I recommended it to everyone. Sarah Canary - Maybe one reason "Smilla's Sense of Snow" appeals to us so much is because we're both January babies? ... As to the characters -- I'm not having any problems keeping them straight in my mind. Could be because they have such different first and last names...makes it easier. Yes, I agree, the atmosphere is a big part of this story -- really sets the mood.
