Rethinking your opinion

Hello and happy summertime! Winter harshness behind us and time for vacations, and our summer book piles.
My subject is rethinking your opinion and in this case, about a book which you've read.
I just finished The Interestings by Meg Wollitzer. Ok, in the beginning I thought how will I get through this in time for my book club meeting. It was very wordy and over 500 pages. As I continued, it was still wordy but I found it getting more engaging. I finished and I really liked it. After I finish a book I like to read reviews and look at YouTube interviews with authors, if available. The reviews were mixed of course, but some of the negative remarks are the complete opposite of how I feel. I start to think, maybe I was wrong. Maybe the book wasn't well written. Maybe I don't know how to interpret a certain situation, etc. Watching Meg Wollitzer being interviewed was a plus. She's very witty, smart, and talked about the characters, making the book more enjoyable to me.
Have you ever felt this say?
Anyone here read The Interestings?
