Jan! Where are your pics? Jan has some great looking sprouts, did you post and it is just slipping my mind? (*grin*) Zen,yes I am terrified that my tenders popped up on me so fast! I thought I had more time until they sprouted than I did! But,so far they are holding up ok,I am keeping their tops on,and nestle their containers in between the hardier containers. We have been getting in to the 40's at night,I have been watching very closely for our overnight temps to get below 35,if they do I may possibly bring them in or cover them,I am with bakemom on the not babying them,I am not as free to go topless as she is...lol...not yet at least! I am hoping that the micro climate on the deck and the protection of fellow containers will carry them through! Who knows,I will probably freak out on a 34 degree night and bring the tenders in or cover them...lol..we will see!:) Yes, Karen it is very neat! I am in total awe still, not that I didn't trust the word of so many experienced people, but it is definitely something you have to see to believe! :) Thanks Lisa! :) Annette,Thanks and I just posted pics on a new thread for you to have some fresh eye candy...lol..! :)

I had a problem with a cat using the corner of the living room for a litter box. After replacing the carpet and installing hardwood, I thought the problem was solved. But no. I heard some scratching noise on the hardwood and went to investigate and found a rather unpleasant pile. What I found to solve the problem is called SSSCat. It is about the size of a hairspray can and the top contains a motion sensor. When the cat walks by it blasts a spray of air. I put one in each of the 2 corners the offenses were occurring. One blast was all it took. That cat will not set foot in the room again. you can use it on counters, furniture, rooms you want to keep the cat out of. I wish I knew about this when I still had some nice Christmas ornaments :( Here is the product description: Product Description Scat the gentle way to protect off-limit areas. Stop cats from roaming freely throughout the house. This unique spray deterrent system uses an adjustable motion sensor to detect a cat's movement within three feet of a designated area. Once the cat has been identified, the system is capable of delivering either an audible warning or combining tone and a burst of compressed air. Package includes motion sensor device, adjustable spray nozzle, compressed air spray and instruction guide. You can buy it online at Petco or Amazon. I wish I had known about this years ago !!!!!

Oh suzie2003's post reminds me! One June, years ago, we had our wood floors refinished. Because of the humidity, it was too tacky for the guy to finish them for days. It didn't bother me but it drove my DH crazy. Every day the flooring guy would show up, crawl across the floor on his hands and knees and then say, no, it's still too tacky for the next coat. The guy even came to the house on a Sunday morning, clearly looking like he rolled out of bed, his hair all sticking up, slapped a tool belt over his cut off sweats, and came to our house to touch the floor. The floors look great and, to me, it was worth it so when we added hardwood to the kitchen we called the same guy back. He seemed to be the poster child of what can happen if you breath in too many fumes. But we also suspected it might have been more a result of a misspent youth.

I guess a better question is, should I seek a professional for auto-matic sprinklers, or is it normal for "diy" people to install them, themselves. I am actually a good land scape person, doing it a couple summers, but I have been tick tacking around these sprinklers that my dad installed like in the 80's. I am debating on ripping up the entire front hard system, and redoing the whole thing. I have put in sprinklers before, but it was always in new houses, or yards that were just dirt. I also never really did the main part, I was normally running the pipes, and I can say for certain my yard doesn't properly drain, im on hill so it doesn't help. Which is why I am really consider redoing the whole front. So I might just seek some professional help.
