I lived for over 25 years in VA in a house literally in the woods. It bordered on the edge of a large forested park with lake. I'm very interested in wildflowers and birds and woodland life in general. For years I roamed the trails and photographed the fauna and flora. Not to mention all the dogs I walked on the trails. Since I spent so much time in the woods, my monniker seemed appropriate. Now, I supposed it ought to be changed to "citynymph", since I'm living in the wonderful city of Charleston.

I had to use the same user name I was using for GardenWeb, if I recall right, and that was a name that for some reason was part of a person's e-mail address at the time of registration. In fact, GardenWeb may have chosen the user name for me because it's not the kind of user name I typically choose.

I wish I could change my user name here but haven't yet figured out how.

Sheri is my real name, the Z6 got tacked on because I live in zone six according to the plant hardiness zone map.

Like jwttrans I registered when I was looking at the gardening end of Garden Web (it was ages ago), so the zone designation kind of made sense. I would have chosen something more bookish for an RP name given the chance.

I wish I had a cool username-I am Pam and was 53 when I signed up-no imagination there.

Nowadays you'll find I go by Oldsquaw, which if you are a "normal" person you might attach to my living next to the Cherokee Reservation. However, if you are a birder, you know from whence it comes.

The first time I ever signed up for a chat room or forum, back in the '90s when the internet was new, I was working late. I was so tired I couldn't even get myself up from my desk to go home. So when I had to think up a name for myself I thought, well, how do I feel? The answer is obvious. Sometimes I wish it were a more upbeat name.

As a fan of The Lord of the Rings, I wanted to choose a name of one of the Tolkien characters. I was always amused by the names of the 3 daughters of the Old Took: Donnamira, Mirabella, and Belladonna (Bilbo's mother). Donnamira never shows up as a character - only in the genealogical tables in the appendices. I figured she was obscure enough that I wouldn't have to add a number.

I originally posted as Cece, but when the Harry Potter riot occurred, and apparently people were posting as more than one user by changing the user name field willy-nilly, just because they could, Spike revamped the process and we all had to re-register. Someone grabbed Cece before I could (although I have NEVER seen that person post here...) so I switched to CCRDMRBKS: Cece reads more books.

Annpan is a childhood nickname, also I liked the "pan" ending to my name as it means "all". This suits my inquisitive nature as I would like to know "all" about everything!

When I had to choose one I looked at my book shelves and pick three of my favourite authors Graham Greene, David Lodge an Saul Bellow so...

I chose mine for several reasons, really. I wanted to choose a name that wouldn't be too obvious for my background (English) and so started thinking about Limey. Then that seems *too* obvious, so moved to "Lemon" and then to Lemonhead. The 101 was tacked on by RP for some reason.

I like the sweet/candy Lemonheads. I liked the group Lemonhead. I'm Limey (related to Lemons!), and I was blonde for ages. :-)

For years I worked for a temporary staffing company and had to fly frequently to different parts of the country, so I was a Reader in Transit (I was working this job when I signed-up). For some reason, it is spelled incorrectly as Reader_inTransit (don't know if it could be fixed). Now that I live and work permanently in the Pacific Northwest, I ought to change it to Reader in the Rain.

As noted in the "introduce yourself" thread, my screen name mixed my love of lily of the valley with the fact that I lived in a valley.

One of the most fun times I had here was when we had a Birthday Party for Shakespeare and we all posted as a character or two from one of the plays, then later guessed who was who. That must have been about the time Spike made us all register.

Well...way back when... I registered with my Newf and my Black Lab beside me. Snoopy (the Landseer Newf mix) and Capt. Nemo, (the lab). Whenever I curled up to read, the boys flopped right next to me on the couch or bed, one on each side.

One of the things that endeared you all to me so very much is when my beloved Snoopy died. I was going through a nasty divorce and turned to all of you to greive. I posted an OT thread entitled, Two Big Dogs Minus One. The outpouring of love and thoughtfulness and concern and beautiful stories about your own pets brought tears to my eyes. I will never be able to tell you how much it meant to me, nor how much it helped me to heal.

Lump me in with the unimaginative. I read, I used to be a stay at home mom, I was 41 when I registered--dear God, was it really that long ago?

Nothing clever/interesting about my monika. When I joined we had to give a minimum of four letters, the V was the first letter of my name and the R was the first of my surname. Later the system changed to all lower-case so I'm occasionally 'drawn-up-short' when I see veer as part of a sentence.

When I first went on the net, I was doing astrology charts for people, and my DH suggested astrokath. It's really a good name as it mostly isn't taken, so I am astrokath at most places.

Before I was on Reader's Paradise I was (and am still) a regular poster on the Antique Roses Forum. In a post some years ago a good friend of mine there tossed off a series of spoof online names, one of which was Rosefolly. I seized upon it and registered it instantly. My friend was a bit bewildered. She had no idea someone would actually want the name! I like it for its double meaning, a folly being an ornamental garden structure, and yes, I do love roses to the point of folly, just as I do books.

My real name is Paula, and I am blessed in that I actually like the name I was given by my mother. Not everyone is so lucky. However I also really enjoy having another name in the online world.
