Clivia seeds

Ever since I harvested my Clivia seeds, I've been trying to swap them for something else. Now they've germinated, so I have already-germinated Clivia seeds to swap. Has anyone got anything weird and wonderful they'd like to swap for a few of them?

I have a few things I'm looking for listed on my page, but obviously I'm also interested in anything that sounds different.

Still have a few germinated seeds struggling to stay alive, new season's berries red now, and berries on the yellow-flowered Clivia almost ripe.

PLEASE can someone offer me something new and exciting in exchange?

Hello,

I still have some cardiocrinum seeds left from '07 harvest, and my fremontodendron 'Tequila Sunrise' still has 2 pods ripening on it - not sure they will of course.

I also have some mystery seeds I collected from pods which had been hidden under a shrub so while I don't know what they are I suspect either an iris (sibirica?) or similar.

All the others have gone to seed exchanges or friends. I'll keep an eye out for your 2008 seed exchange.

Is this the sort of thing that might interest you?

Sorry, retsec! I didn't say what color, did I? They are for orange flowered plants. Easy to grow--expensive to buy. Orange is the most common color; you can buy a bulb for $25.00 or so. I can provide germination instructions. Maintaining the plant is super-easy. The Clivia Forum gets very specific; I haven't had an issue in 10 years or so of growing them...

I have one clivia seed at the moment, will have more after next bloom. they are Big seeds and take over 6 months to germinate. Also have seedlings a few years old.

Marric: I've had several Clivia seeds sprout inside the seed pod. It's not that unusual when the berries are on the plant for six months or more. Some of mine sprout even before the berry changes color. I also soak the ones that haven't sprouted yet in a 3-1 mix of water and hydrogen peroxide because they can take weeks to sprout and are at risk of succumbing to fungal diseases during that time. They usually sprout in the water well. If I cover Clivia seeds when I plant them on top of the mix instead of in water, I use plastic wrap and not something like foil that would block light. They should not be buried. I highly recommend the link from Shields Garden.
