The gentleman from FPC came early and spent about an hour here assessing the situation. And YEP!! they are definitely the Caribbean Crazies and as he said--a pretty bad infestation! The solution is expensive and they cannot completely eradicate it due the fact there are woods behind me and neighbors as well with them but they can get it under control where there will be minimal ants (that I can live with!) The fact that I sprayed the malathion, Spectracide etc is what drove them into the kitchen. They will treat the yard in about a week (after the spraying I did dissipates) and put baits outside to draw any inside back out. I will have to keep cleaning up the kitchen floors 3-4 times a day to keep the dead ones picked so they are not drawn to them (another wonderful habit they have) and he said I can spray with Lysol inside which contains alcohol which they do not like They will have to come out periodically to spray to keep them under control. Hopefully within another week and a half I can spend more time in the yard without the "crazies" making me crazy. Spent about 4 hrs out there today though and got some storm damage control done, and got some of the things put back out that I had put up. I have a small yard so I can imagine what it would cost for the Jacksonville Zoo that has been infested for 2+ years to treat with that much acreage! Greg says they are drawn to plants, mulch, rocks, landscape timbers, potting soil and fertilizer !!! He was in awe of the yard though and was impressed with what I have done in about 6 mos time. Of course, since he loves plants, he left with about 9 pots of plants! He had one brug that he loved (white) so now he has a pink and a yellow to keep it company along with several crinums, caladiums, cannas, wandering jew, marguerite and blackie sweet potatoe vine and coleus---he was such a happy camper! I am not an enabler tho! Linda

At one time I had a "catalog"....more like a few pages , of all the sizes and names and shapes of Mason's Vista. And I do believe the large platter I havew as the largest they had. The catalog I have? had is from the mid 1950's....maybe it's still in the bottom of a drawer somewhere> When we were first married, we had found a gift shop in Windsor Canada that had a large selection of Mason's pink vista. And we could order up to $10 worth duty free that would come in as unsolicited gift. And at that time a cup and saucer were $1.25 USD....and a dinner plate was $.90. I filled out my everyday use stuff that way. We were hard on sandwich plates and cereal bowls> Just looking at my picture from 13 years ago and my cupboard now....and think I have added 2 coupe soup plates> I have platters in several places....I will have to dig them out and measure and see just what I have

Beanthere dunthat, I didn't know that either, and like you, find it very interesting! Palm reading may be easier when reading the palm of someone who's lived, rather than one who is developing. I suspect palms are in a way like DNA, but I've wondered at times if people's palms ever change? Lars you have e-mail. You are exactly right when you said one of the powers of Tarot is to make subconscious thoughts conscious. What the cards suggest are usually good advice, whether we seem to know it or not. Even if it's something I think I know, I always consider the suggestions carefully. Tarot and Astrology are naturally intertwined when you think that each of the suits (Wands, Swords, Pentacles and Cups) also represent Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and the relationships seem more obvious. I had my numerology chart done years ago by my SIL's sister. I should probably dig that out and look at it again, if I can find it. I thought it was fascinating, and think numerology can offer insights as well. I always look to see what the new month/years numbers hold. Thanks for reminding me I haven't done that yet this month!

Ah I always check out these postings. I've found some excellent reads thanks to my fellow book lovers on this site. Right now I have a few suggestions that I have just finished or am on the final pages of: The Potato Factory - Bryce Courtenay (been out a few years and just discovered in the library reject pile) House of Spirits and Whispers - Annie Wilder . This is the true story of a haunted house. Is it scary...no, but as I love old houses and things that go bump in the night I liked it for a change of pace. Alone in the classroom - Elizabeth Hay. Half way done and am liking it well enough but wonder about all the hype. Those are my offerings this time around. Budster
