No flowers yet

I have grown some pelargoniums from cuttings over the winter, and they are now very healthy looking large bushy plants. They have been planted in large pots in the garden but there are no signs of any flowers yet. Can anyone tell me When I can expect them to flower?

Any time now. The flowers take several weeks to develop. Mine which overwintered in the ground outside have been flowering for several weeks, those in pots have not put out any flowers yet. Excess nitrogen can delay flowering as the plant grows like mad. Some varieties, particularly with the more fancy leaves, are a bit shy about flowering. A good sunny spot is important for the flowers, and don't overwater.

shavedmonkey, I don't find Libby's comment anything but showing her love for orchids, sharing her personal experiences, and being helpful. I appreciate your comments as well as Libby's and clearly, there's always something to learn about our beloved plants. Three is not a crowd here! I just took pictures of my plant today. shavedmonkey, you are right about this flower taking forever to bloom! I measured both stalks and one is 11" and the other 15". It took about 3 weeks to become this tall so maybe it's close to blooming.

My mom's plant hasn't gone dormant yet. It's been outside all winter (zone 10, Northern California, and an extremely mild winter at that). I actually just took a cutting today to see if I can root it inside under 24/7 lights. I really doubt it will work, and it's part of a discussion with a friend as to how easy the species is to root. This is one sold by Annie's as the species, not a named variety or hybrid. I have no idea whether it is in fact the species. Actually, I took a picture today--let me dig it up. It looks pretty pathetic, but it has green leaves...
