Steve... what I would do to have a large population of frogs singing to us at night. Now first you need to make sure it's really the frogs and not toads. Toads mating calls are a very high shriek. Super loud and shrill. It annoyed my wife and I (and our neighbors) one year, but honestly you get totally used to it. When it disappears it's sad. Green Frogs singing is like the plucking on a violin string. Very cool. If you have Bullfrogs making all the noise - well I'm not sure what they do. But I had to remove 2 Bullfrogs we accidentally introduced. They were eating our Green frog population and our fish. Sadly, they were also the least friendly. We'd go out to feed the frogs, and the small Green Frogs would hop up to us for food and the Bullfrogs would dive away. After spending a month trying to catch the Bullfrogs nicely I had to resort to something different. Now keep in mind, we'd lost some precious fish and frogs to these guys so we had little choice unless we wanted to potentially sacrifice everything. OK, like I said netting didn't work after a solid month of trying and the way I finally got them was with a bamboo fishing pole. Just a fly hook and stuck the bamboo fishing pole out our bedroom window. It hooked the bullfrog in the front lip and I was able to hop out and quickly put him in a container to be moved to a natural pond. His bottom lip was fine and I caught the second bullfrog the exact same way. It was much better than killing them or letting them kill the Green Frog population we're trying to establish.

They've been croaking here more this week, but I was hearing a few in Feb. and I saw the first eggs a few weeks ago. They went through a freeze, so I don't know if that affected them or not...time will tell. I don't think there will be as many as the last couple of years since we kept the water from collecting on top of the pool this winter. We heard some on and off throughout the winter. I noticed the Indian Plums were starting to bloom in the woods.

lol, Paula. That is just what I was thinking when this thread was resurrected! I was wondering if everyone else had missed the frogs as much as I had after far too many quiet years. Long ago, probably in the summer of 2006, after southern OK had suffered through the drought years of the early 2000s (except for 2004) and especially the drought of 2005-06, we had a summer rainstorm. We sat out under the covered patio and watched the frogs come out of the lily pond and hop all over from puddle to puddle while it was still raining. I think we got almost 4" that day in just a couple of hours. After the rain, still sitting under the patio cover (and listening on our fire radios to firefighters at the north end of the county fighting a haybarn fire starting, unfortunately, by lightning) we watched a rainbow appear and we watched the frogs for an hour or two. A few days later, everyone in our neighborhood was out frantically trying to catch up on mowing and trimming, and we often stopped for conversations with passers-by while mowing down by the road. At such times, our road is more like a sidewalk..... The funny thing was that when we compared notes on the rainy day, we found that other neighbors also were sitting on porches and covered patios, watching the frogs. It was too funny. We poked fun at ourselves for watching the frogs..."you might be a redneck if....you sit in the rain and watch the frogs play", etc., but the truth was that the frogs that day were a symbol of so many things---how horrible the droughts had been and how we finally had hope the drought would break being just two of those things. As it turned out, true drought relief was a few more months away, but the heavy rainfall and frogs that came out to play that day still served as a sign that good times would return. Sometimes in the midst of awful drought, frogs are such a good, positive sign that some sort of normalcy has returned. That's how I feel this year---things are so much more normal, weatherwise, than they have been in ages. Dawn

Hi @sprtphntc7a, I am considering to get the CS 2092 which is an updated model of your CS 2082. Could you please tell me if you have any issue with the two French doors of your Liebherr? I saw the CS2092 in the showroom and found that under most FD fridges, this model does not have a flap to close off the gap between the two doors. Instead there seems to be something magnetic inside and along the edge of each door which attracts each other to close off the gap. I just wonder if this magnetic mechanism works well enough to seal the unit and keep the temperature. Any comments you can share would be much appreciated.
