Back when I was a newbie in my career as a 'rosemaniac' (mid/late 90s), Sean McCann was a prolific contributor to various rose publications. He was always one of my favorites, and a great writer. I also think that he may have participated in the old GW or the old rec.gardens.roses, or maybe both. Thinking about all of those old guys who contributed to my rose education melts my heart: Jim Delahanty, Bob Martin, Bill Hillman. There were many others. Sorry for the trip down memory lane, but seing Sean's name sent me back :-D

Brandon - I think your film on Modern Roses is the best short description of those classes that I have ever read or seen! Usually people get way down "into the weeds", and discuss exactly how a certain famous rose was bred, or get into some of the disputes around certain roses, etc. This is fine for people who love such things (like me), but I think turns off newbies. Your film is a great introduction to modern rose classes, period. Thank you so much! Jackie

This is all so wild. Stiffing a nonprofit that rents land at what I'm sure are subsidized rates is pretty low. (Based on their website, The Seed Farm seems to be doing great work to encourage emerging farmers and donates fresh produce to a local food bank.) I wonder how they are getting away with all this. And what is their long game? I don't think people are exactly going to be flocking to order roses from their new site.
