There's no rule saying you can't mix vegetables and ornamentals in the same garden. Furthermore, some gardeners line out ornamentals in the vegetable garden while they bulk up or until space becomes available elsewhere. Providing each has sufficient space and ornamentals do not interfere with cultivation and harvesting there is no problem.

As bboy said, 1 is a Portulacaria (I think probably Portulacaria afra). It is Elephant Bush, Elephant Food, and various other nicknames, and is sometimes called Dwarf Jade, but it is not truly a jade -- jades are in the Crassula genus, a different genus of succulents. [Though they resemble each other, Jade plants and Portulacaria afra are not in the same genus, not in the same family, and not even in the same order. Oscularia deltóides, Sedum pachyphyllum (guess), and Crassula ovata variegated form (someone will know specific cultivar).

Ken, I dug up divisions of peony from my grandparents home in July when it was being sold, and while it didn’t bloom the following summer, it did move just fine. I’ve also done transplants in spring without problems, but fall is supposed to be the best time.
