Identification of some native trees

hi all .... i have some native trees on my property i wish to capture some seeds from and propagate for later use on my property. These are the trees

this is a wattle but what kind??

g'day luke,

me not much help but the top pics look casuarina/she oak to me and a 'she' she oak at that as opposed to a 'he' she oak.

The 'Wattle' looks more like a grevillea to me and the best I can do with the others is a casuarina (she-oak) or two, a few gum trees, perhaps a senna or cassia (the hanging seeds pods), and maybe a xanthostemon (panda) - the flower on right in photo 6 looks like that and the spiky remains of a flowers in 7 possibly the same without the stamens. As for propagation, well, I reckon it'll take you more research on the various subjects than just a note on this page.

I have not seen any mention of Blackgums! Beautiful, large trees with truly blood colored foliage in the fall (They also provide little blue berries for the birds!). They grow fairly quickly and are pretty tolerant of drought conditions. Something we put in last year was a Princeton American Elm. Unbelievably fast grower and was bred to have resistance to Dutch Elm disease. There really is a reason they were so widely planted as street trees and would provide high shade for your front yard relatively quickly. They are also reputed to be very tolerant of city pollution. No mention of Red Cedar, either. Grows quickly, immune to virtually everything and has a nice grayish color which contrasts nicely with the dark greens of other trees. I have mixed them into our overstory oaks/maples etc. with podocarps, firs and deodars for a nice tapestry of color and texture. They give good cover for camellias from winter burn. Any kind of magnolia does well! We have planted virtually every kind we could find and they have distinguished themselves into overstory and understory nicely over the years. The Sweet bays smell particularly wonderful and are a good open, midsized tree without too much spread. They tend to get very thin in winter, however. The Little Gems have the advantage of blooming until frost without getting overly large. American Hollies are magnificent, but are difficult to get started for some reason. Once one is happy, however, they will take off. Mary Nells or Oakleafs might be a good compromise. River Birch, of course, is incredibly fast growing and would do well in your seasonally wet areas. They have beautiful yellow leaves in Fall, nice open shade in summer and gorgeous exfoliating bark. Finally, esh had a good suggestion in bald cypresses. We have one that is always commented upon by those who come over, especially in the Fall when the needles turn golden and carpets the ground around it. A truly beautiful tree and a fast grower. As he mentioned they do well in both dry sites and wet. The only difference to my eye is speed of growth and density of needles/boughs.

I,often think of you when I see the blue goddess waterlily. I fell in the fish pond yesterday,cold morning. All of me went under but my head. Thank God,not my head. I went in, to make an adjustment with the connection,of the immersible pump and the pipe that takes the water to the waterfall. It was slightly,dislodged. The floor of the pond was very slippery. I think, I gave the fish a heart attack,ha ha ha. I went straight to the pool,hosed off and jumped into the cold water of the pool. No body saw me. Remember I use a walking stick,due to my left being weak,from the stroke. I had to crawl out,laughing at myself...

C'mon Victorians how about some local knowledge.
The first is an an allocasuarina can't tell which one, if it was in Sydney I might guess at littoralis. The euc looks a lot like lehmanii [WA]. the wattle is one of the green wattles, which I don't know.

The two most common Allocasurinas in Victoria, or at least around Melbourne, are:
Allocasurina vertcillata
Allocasurina littoralis

The former has very long drooping needles and is aptly named Drooping Sheoak.

The latter has shorter needles that generally stick straight up. Black Sheoak.

The sheoak in the photo looks like it might be littoralis.

The wattle tree will be either Acacia dealbata / Silver Wattle or Acacia mearnsii / Black Wattle.

The leaves consist of a main stem with smaller stems branching off, with each smaller stem being lined with leaflets. Look at the top surface of the main stem and you should see raised circular glands. If they are evenly spaced it is Acacia dealbata. If they are scattered haphazardly along the stem then it is Acacia mearnsii.

All of the Melbournian Eucalypts have white or creamy flowers and the one in the photo appears to have yellow flowers. So it is not a local if you are in the Melbourne region. It in fact looks like a Western Australian species, whose name escapes me, that is commonly planted in parks and gardens around Melbourne.

So far so good I think.
As for the Eucalypt, I would go for E. macrandra, one of the WA yates.
