Thanks bamboo, but I think I'll pass on that ! lol Tradition, when a friend of my had a pool she had the same problem with frogs getting into her pool. I think that the frog in the picture might be a either a greenhouse frog, pines wood treefrog, or a southern cricket frog. I'm leaning towards the greenhouse frog though. Laura, that is a cute and tiny frog! Gary, I hope that the invasion is slowing down! I've only seen cane toads on tv and never want to have to deal with them in the garden! It's bad enough finding big cuban treefrogs in the garden.

WOW I am glad I'm not the only one with snakes. They are all over here. I came home the other day and my chicken coop was closed which was really weird. THought my daughter must have came home and there was a hurt chicken and she closed it in. WEnt to reopen it and looked, and before I could open the door laying at the bottom of the door was a, I would say 4 to 5 ft snake. This thing was huge.Never seen a snake in the wild that big.I got my critter book out and couldn't find the snake in it so to protect our animals and ourself we had to kill the snake. WE don't like to kill things well OK gophers and dilla's are not a favorite either but they make big holes that our horses can break legs in. If I can catch a animals and bring it somewhere else I will do it but sometimes it can't be done. I am a major animal lover but sometimes you need to do what you need to do. Farmers here tell me one of their biggest problems is people. people breed dogs and then the dogs go wild and attack the cows.OR run after the cows and the cows run and trip in one of those darn dilla holes and break a leg and the farmer is out a few hundred to a few thousand dollars for a cow. I don't think alot of people like to kill animals but its a thing sometimes that needs to be done. My dog which most of the farmers know around here came home with a bullet hole in her leg. Glad it wasn't really bad and I'm glad they didn't kill her but I can't blame the farmers they are just protecting their animals.A cow or a horse cost alot and you don't want them hurt. Most of us farmers try to get along with all the animals but sometimes the animals don't want to get along with us.I use to live in the city but now after being in the country I see the diffrences.So really others need to walk in our shoes before they judge us.I love wildlife. I had a bobcat that was eating my chickens and geese so instead of killing it I got a couple outside dogs and that helped keep the bobcat and the coyotes away. So I do what I can not to kill anything but sometimes it just has to be done. I don't like it either but it needs to be that way to protect what we have. or if we let all the wild animals take over and kill all our animals then soon we will be on the streets starving and begging for food.

It sounds like a great apartment for one person. It's hard getting used to a new place--at least for me. But when you get all your electronic stuff hooked up, I bet you'll be fine. You can use your own personal touches to make it YOUR place. Definitely a picture over that circuit breaker box. I can live without a dishwasher or disposal but, because I love to cook and bake, lack of counter top would bother me. If there's room, you might think about a counter-island on wheels (know what I mean?) I've seen some marble topped ones at Big Lots that were neat and won't break your budget. You're lucky to have all those windows. A big plus! Hope your kitten is settled in now and you are beginning to enjoy it. Man, I don't know how the heck you moved that sofa by yourself! Just get all those loose ends taken care of and I suspect you are going to love it. Patti

If the water level is high enough and you can add oxygenator plants like parrot's feather, coon tail, fox tail, elodea/egeria (illegal in some states), ludwigia sp, then you may be able to add livebearer fish like guppies or platies for mosquito control.They are live bearers and feeding on the mosquito larvae will probably result in hundreds of fish very soon (which you can give away as gifts or donations to schools or sell to your local fish store (pet). Betta fish are also an option and one that doesn't require as many oxygenator plants (though their prevalent presence would make all the difference); you may be able to add more than one male if the pool is large enough (they are territorial) and several females (number depends on size of pool); these fish will probably also reproduce due to the nutrition they get from the mosquito larvae, though not as many fry will make it to adulthood.
