This is the Tanika isn't it? This is readily available, so I believe the seeds would be too. Otherwise try growing for tubestock.

Most of the fine leaved Lomandras have been selectively bred by Abulk. They are marketed under the Ozbreed label. There is Lomandra 'Tanika', L. 'Nyalla' and another worth trying called L. 'Wingarra'.

Abulk are doing a lot of selective breeding of native grasses. Their Dianellas are worth looking at as well.

Google up either Abulk or Ozbreed and click on the strappy leaved natives.

In the wild these narrow-leaved forms have been known as L. longifolia subsp. exilis, differing from subsp. longifolia in having leaves under 5 mm wide (down to 1.5 mm) and plants generally smaller. For some reason, this classification was not followed in the Flora of Australia volume including Lomandras, published in 1986.

This subspecies has been recorded mainly from the tablelands of NSW, but extending apparently into the mountains of eastern Victoria. I have seen it in several places in the NSW tablelands over the years, but unfortunately not anywhere I will be visiting again soon.

Thanks Tonyfromoz, I had guessed that they would be of NSW origin as I have never seen them any parts of Victoria that I have visited.

If they are anything like the local Lomandra longifolia they should produce copious quantities of seed.

Most of the new forms of Lomandra being used in landscaping etc. have come from Abulk as a result of persistant and careful selection. They actually employ folk to be vigilant in detecting any genetic variation in their seed grown plants. If anything interesting comes along it is immediately separated and if it shows promise it is grown on to see how it turns out.

All of the Lomandras are looked at for potential and as a result they are selling variations of L. longifolia, L. filiformis, L. confertifolia and lots of Dianellas. It is obvious there is more out there. Victoria must have considerable genetic variation in Lomandra to surprise a few gardeners in the future.
