that's different that you should mention black seeded snake beans as most seem to give brown seeds once dried, there is no apparent difference while the seeds are green.

i started with snake beans before we moved to rural and they all gave brown seeds, then when we moved we kept planting them and collecting, then out of the blue some seeds presented as black, i thought it was just an anomily as we hadn't bought in any other seeds (once you have snake beans you have as many seeds as you ever need).

i spoke to another gardener at the time he suggested it just seems to happen because he has the same effect that is growing from brown seeds and getting some plack seed.

so will be interesting to hear if there are 2 varieties as such, me i've never seen it before not that i'm a snake bean expert, but this is the first time ever that a gardener has asked for black seeds as such.

so if you get or have more info' ie.,. varity names i'm very interested to know.

I have a heap of yardlong beans - variety stickless wonder. They have light brown seeds. No trouble growing them. You only need one plant to get a good supply. I can send seed if you want. I've never tried eating the dried seeds. Do you just get them when they dry out on the vine, break out the seeds and then boil them?

I buy mine frome eden seeds. I have a mail order cataloge, some nurserys sell there seeds, you could look in the phone book to order a cataloge.
