I had to do the same thing...but your pool sounds more complicated and not as far along as mine. Didn't have an in floor cleaner...but typically the plaster'er cuts the pipes and installs standard fittings. It would be your job to get the eyeballs and the popups for the in ground cleaning system and install them into the pool as its filling up and the plaster guy has left. You can actually wait to install these but then you would need a wet suit probably. Some cities require pre-inspection of the electrical as a separate inspection others making the electric a part of the final. You will need to check that out beforehand. You might also want to double check the plumbing is ok and was pressure checked and passed inspection....this is really hard to fix afterwards. All of the inspections and all the work including electric must be done before plastering and should all be done together. Plastering is the last step. I would run enough electrical for the spa heater as well since you plan on during that in the future and make sure the electrical inspection will pass and the inspector knows it must handle the load of the heater as well. I would scrape up the money to go with an aggregate finish myself over plaster thats what we did. Why? Because if the gunite was done poorly, it will hide defects better. Ours had a lot of cracks and was gunited thin in a few places on the floor as well as a part of the screwups the PB made when they redesigned the shape of our pool. Take a look at Stonescape is cheaper than PebbleTec and just as good in my opinion. If you have never had a pool before, you need to hire someone for startup and/or be fully knowledgeable about what to do with your pool when water is in it. Its not a good thing for a brand new pool to set for 2 weeks while you learn how to take care of a pool.

Agree the panels are birch. And the rails and stiles do look like maple. Repairing the counter trim is possible. It will be easier if the trim can be removed without breaking it. I see nail holes and hopefully there is caulk and not glue in the space between wood and counter. Either way, all the old finish has to be removed. Sanding that would be messy in place. But, so would stripping. Again, better done by removing and working it in a garage or shop. Get all the old finish off and try the stain on the back to get the color right(sand the test area). Then stain and let dry. Sand(by hand) with 220 grit very lightly(knock down the nubs). The reason the old finish looks so bad is that it is probably polyurethane. That chips when hit. Fixing poly is very difficult. I'd use a oil based varnish instead. That can be spot sanded and retouched if damaged. Staining the cabinets is really not worth the time/effort. All the old finish has to be removed. Sanding there is not really an option, except as the final prestain step. And, since the two woods are different, the same stain will produce two different colors, both of which will not match the counter trim.

I am developing a gardening-related website which will provide some very interesting and useful functionality. One component of the website will be a searchable database of heirloom varieties and commercial cultivars for all types of vegetables, herbs, and other edible and medicinal plants. My intention is to provide a FREE ready and easily-accessible reference for all known varieties and cultivars. Users will also be able to compare varieties or seek varieties that meet selected criteria (e.g. hardiness zone, days to maturity, disease resistance, fruit size, etc.) I need your help to find, collect, and catalog all of this information so I can get it loaded into a database. I already have partial information on about 10,000 commercial cultivars of vegetables and herbs. My information on heirloom varieties is a bit more "spotty." I would like to ask for your help in collecting and cataloging this information. I can accept information in many different ways. Email messages, text files, and excel spreadsheets all work great. Links to websites are also helpful but less so. (I am currently in the process of painstakingly working my way through the websites of many seed companies for varieties and descriptions.) Depending on the feedback I receive, I would even be amenable to posting a working database via a website and providing access for selected experts to enter and edit entries. Mostly, I just want to make a great resource for people to use. Some of the specific data elements I would like to collect for each variety include: - Variety Name - Other Names (Aliases) - Vegetable Type (e.g. Tomato) - Description - Hardiness - Fruit size - Fruit color - Flavor profile (description of flavor characteristics) - Distinguishing characteristics (as from other varieties) - Starting method (sow indoors + transplant, direct sow, etc.) - Days to germination - Days to maturity - Yield (compared to other varieties) - Disease resistance - Special planting/growing instructions - Origin - Year introduced - Parent varieties (if a known cross) - Historical information - Countries found - *** Photos *** - Sources ...etc. I am very appreciative for any guidance or assistance you can offer in collecting and categorizing information on these heirloom varieties.
