I love my fire and Ice. It needs at least 6 hours of full sun. Moist soil for all Hydrangeas. I am a designer and went to school for this 3 1/2years pt. Time. Mine does turn a beautiful fushcia in the fall every year. Maybe some that dont were miss marked. That can happen.

I'm going to take a pass on this swap...I am still trying to get over the Thanksgiving that was supposed to be elsewhere....but ended up here anyways....and now onto Christmas LOL....and if that wasnt bad enough, someone decided to trash half of my outside Christmas ornaments tonight(some people are just sick, they tore up my elderly neighbors display as well!)...I almost lost the little bit of Christmas spirit I had, but I refuse to let some idiot spoil it for me AND I am determined to get into the full spirit just to spite them LOL! So if I don't talk to you all again before the season ends(I am sure I will)... I hope you all have a Happy Hanukkah and/or a Merry Christmas Donna

cc...I also have The Brutal Telling on my TBR shelves. I am saving it because, as long as its there, I know I have a book in my possession I will unquestionably love. So I feel free to work my way through all the other seventy three books on the shelves knowing I don't have to like any of them! If I reject three books in a row I become convinced I'll never find another good book.Having that sure-thing there helps me sleep at night! LOL

Thank you for your warm welcome. Yes, it certainly does depend on the content, whether the book just seems long, or actually is. That goes without saying, and I suppose that's why I feel so free now in quitting a book if I am not enjoying the read. Loved thyrkas' comment ". . .one can spend plenty of time indulging in the joy of reading without the threat of the book ending before we are ready to let the story go." That expresses my feeling exactly. Thank you, thyrkas. I've read and enjoyed almost all of Michener's books and a few of Rutherfurd's books and they all qualify as looooong for me. Never heard of Kristin Lavrandattur, but her triolgy sounds intriguing (if not daunting). Thanks so much for all the suggestions.
