Not positive, but looks like sooty mold and scale? If the tree isn't very large you can spray it with water and a few drops of Ivory soap, you can use a sponge or cloth to wipe off the black stuff, definitely try to get rid of the scale. I'm sure there is something a little stronger out there(pesticide)maybe check with Jene's tropicals or local fruit nursery to see what is the best recommendation and safe to use on Mango trees. Whatever you decide to use, make sure you spray it early morning or after the sun goes down...you don't want to sunburn the leaves. Good luck!

Sorry to hear it, your frogs genrally though I think must be really lucky to have such a good guardian angel! I am amazed at times how some of the disabled ones do manage to survive. During spawning season this year I noticed one frog with one back leg cleanly amputated. He was quite large so has been surviving for some time. I suspect he lives most of the time in the pond or just outside, and I just notice him during all the spring activity. For a couple of years there was also one-eyed Jack ( named for obvious reasons), who I haven't see this year. There is a lot of cover in and around the pond, which is great for them but makes my watching more difficult. Anyway, I agree with the other postings--they need all the help they can get!

if it were early spring.. those rolled leaves would be typical frost or freeze damage ... is it near a sprayed lawn?? i agree.. dig it up.. and lets see what you find..the petioles are too short... for the leaf being that big.. which is classic too deep planting ... or sinking after settling .... then pot it for a couple months ... and replant in early fall ... ken
