I would love some of your Yucca seeds, I have some heirloom tomatos if you are interested.

i am not familiar with this... but thought to myself.. scent varies over the season ... by late fall.. the leaves can be thick and leathery ... and not quite as fragrant as new shoots in spring ... so you got one good sniffer.. if you can define the scent.. with as much specificity as you did ...... but try again.. in spring ... if it should be IDd as such.. and worth keeping.. ken

John, Citrus is a tropical fruit; only recently adapted to the Mediterranean climates. Don't ask me about grapefruit; because I don'tgrow them or eat them.... you have to read my first book to understant that. I do know a bit about other citrus; and a lot about Meyer lemon. Don't stress about Fiji; you can grow great citrus there.. maybe not as close as you are to the ocean. I am not expert in mandarins, so you are on your own here. Color is only important for the market; the fruit inside is the same.

Ronald: Yes, I have two seedling abiu trees. One has fruited one time, but I never got to tatse the fruit as we went away on vacation just before they were ready to be picked and they were gone when we returned. Here are some pictures I posted previously in another thread on this forum. Unforunately this bloom pictured, was only on one of the trees, and no fruit set. Actually, this particular tree has bloomed several times over the past few years (and multiple times per year) and has never set a fruit. I may have to take the chain saw out and let it rest by the trunk of the tree for a few days to see if that gets any rise out of the darn thing. There is a wide range of quality of fruit on Abiu, just like in Star Apple. How did your's compare?
